I ran mine for a good hour last night, no dramas what so ever.
Very happy with the 160w SB

Can i ask what are you using as the holder?

Do you use a dome fixture or just a normal ceramic holder fixture? Mounted inside or outside?
160w fair strong lol, what size enclosure you got?

ATM its a ceramic holder no reflector, I'm looking at one of the reflectors from the herp shop if its big enough (waiting on an email from them today). Lighting set up is inside the unit, 160w SB MegaRay, 3ft 6500 fluoro, and I will be putting in a secondary basking light probably a halogen something or other.
My enclosure is a larger one, I wanted to give him more climbing room, 600 Deep x 1200 Long x 1200 Tall. Solid glass front with side opening doors, similar too this http://www.justlizards.com.au/enclosures/125X60X100-reptile-enclosure.htm

So i called Matt from Animal Attractions, he said bring it in straight away and that he will change it over.
So i did that today, he said that sometimes the saftey mechanizm (however you spell it lol) sometimes gets jamed, and that will cause it to flicker.

So as i said, got the new one, plugged it in and it has been working perfect all day which is great!

- I was also looking at getting that exact dome fixture from Brian, but i dont think i need it.
Dome just reflects the UV a little more, and is used for a screen top mostly.

Im looking at a dome reflector more as a shade.
Because the light is inside the enclosure I want to cut down the amount of light reflecting out of it into the lounge room. The one from The Herp Shop is a little big (12") but it should do the job, and they are cheap under $20.00.
Ive dealt with these guys before and have had no dramas.
I didn't know Mat at AA had reflectors as I couldn't find them on his website
