Has anyone noticed any differences with temps of the replacements? I just receieved the bulb yesterday, and noticed it wasnt nearly as green. I had a 35 watt incandescent spot bulb next to it so it wouldn't be so green, and to get proper basking temps. Right away when I put the new bulb in I noticed the basking temp wasnt as high. Has anyone noticed this? Simple fix, all I have to do is switch out the 35wtt basking bulb for a higher one, but I was wondering if anyone experienced this?

I am so excited to hear that some of you are receiving your new bulbs and your beardies are doing well under them
I also have sent off one of my megarays and am looking forward to it testing fine.

I have had the new bulb in there for a little longer than 24 hours. It seems my beardie is a lot more active. She is also basking a lot more. Since I just built a new viv and the megaray went in there there were so many variables and I didnt know what was the culprit of her not wanting to bask and stay in her hide all day. I am pleased to report that she has been running around all morning, eating hornworms, and she even ate a peice of turnip green out of my hand! She will eat bugs outa my hand but never greens. Anyway I just wanted to report that I am quite pleased with the replacement and I believe its working perfectly!!

I got my replacement bulb this sat and in the prosess of burning it before putting it back on Lexia. THANK you so very much for such wonderful service info. it really shows what a great company you guys are and that you really care about us and our babies and that means a lot to my family.

how long a "burn" in time? b4 putting the beardie in?

The megarays that are currently being shipped have been burned in already and tested by john. So these bulbs dont really need a burn in. As a general rule for for burning in uvb bulbs is 48 hours.

Okay everyone, just got the replacement last night. It's been on for about 2 hours this morning and I can already see a difference. He is perky, looking around at everything. He has even done a little lap around his tank :lol: things are looking good so far!

I just want to say you have no idea how thrilled I am that your animals are having such a positive response to the replacement bulbs. I am still asking that everyone monitor their animals very closely for the first week or two, better safe than sorry. But I am so glad to hear that the activity levels are increasing so quickly under the new bulb.

Hey all! Haven't posted in a couple weeks now. I spoke w/ John and requested a refund rather then the bulb. He was very accomodating to me. He responded w/ in minutes. I wish i knew a month ago what i knew now. We were treting our taz for parasites, half way through his albon treatment our megaray 160 came in. We burned it in and set it up. The first day we put the mega ray was also the 1st time Taz ate in a week. It was also the last time he ate on his own again. He became very lithargic and non responsive. we kept him alive for 25 days of this by bathing him 2x's daily and syringe feeding him. I never would have expected this from a bulb and blamed it on the albon. Weeks after Taz passed we baught Drago, within 2 days his appetite depleated and started closing one eye. I happened to post something on someone elses post about his set up and sick beardie. Someone else told me to look into my bulb it could be defective, that is when dawn posted her link w/ john. John told me to take the mega ray out immidiately & i did. It took a ful week w/ only 3 days exposure for Drago to recover. I am not trying to scare anyone from using this lamp. I am saying that john did the stand up thing by refunding and I am saying that i personnally am scared about using a megaray right away. I also want people to realise that if they think there is something wrong to not feel paranoid and it is ok to change things around.

just put the new megaray in that i got with a 65K daylight fluoro tube for added light... and after bout half hour put my guy in.. hes been in for 10-15 minutes and just sittin on the tile, with the middle of his tailed curved up and the end of it down, like an upside down U? kinda wierd?
