Hey everyone!! My name is Syleena and I'm a 27 yr old mom of 2 children - Daemon & Mykaila, a beautiful sweet Cat named Mia, am living with the love of my life - Andrew. We just recently adopted an adorable little bearded dragon and we are First Time reptile owners so we like to read and learn as much as we can. He's roughly 3-4 weeks old, still pretty tiny. He hasn't been eating much at all. We brought him home Tuesday evening (January 6th) so he's been here for about a week. The first night he didn't eat anything, understandable. The second day he managed to eat some salad during the day when we were at work. Then 2-3 Crickets around 5pm. We gave him a bath and tried to feed him some more but he wasn't interested. The next day he managed to have a little greens and 4-5 crickets total thru out the day (Small to medium size). He's eaten 3-4 crickets a day and some greens each day up until Monday, he wouldnt eat anything so I managed to actually syringe feed him some baby food (Green Beans & Water puree'd) and he drank lots of water. Then managed to eat 1 cricket. It didn't seem like nearly enough for a growing baby! It's worrying me. Then yesterday he didn't eat anything at all. This morning we woke up, took all his stuff out of his cage, cleaned up any poops n pee's he had laying around and gave him fresh salad and fresh water. Before putting him back in, we tried to feed him a few small crickets, he ate 1 but wouldnt touch any more. Just wanted to get out of the feeding bin. I put him back in his nice clean terrarium. He had a few bites of his salad but that's it. He's been really active, runnin around, scratching himself on his log (might be starting a shed perhaps?), even saw a head bob or 2. Also he's been pooping/peeing every day. I will find anywhere from 1-3 different droppings each day that I spot clean.

I've included a few pics of the lil man, if anyone has any ideas as to why he's not eating as much as I've read they should be at this age, or even if you have any suggestions to get him to eat more I would be suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper appreciative!!! :help:

Thanks so so much!! :)

Here is our little cutie, Chilly

He looks a little bigger than 3-4 weeks old. Maybe a couple of months, but it's hard to say for sure. Their appetites vary and the large numbers of feeders you hear about tend to happen during growth spurts. His energy level and regular poops and constant appetite is a good sign. He may still have some relocation stress along with a shed coming on. I would avoid syringe feeding as that can be stressful/harmful so it's used more as a last resort. Just keep offering a nice salad every day (he may ignore it, but that's OK - it's good to teach him it's available) and crickets twice a day for 15 min or so dusted with calcium 5x per week and multivitamin 1-2x per week. He's a cute little guy, I hope you're having fun with him so far.

Maybe 5-6 weeks. He's pretty tiny. He looks bigger in the pics.. I am a small woman, I'm 5 foot 2 inches, and have pretty small hands. Here are a few pictures of him on my fingers to compare size. His body is the same size as my pointer finger. :) What do you think?

Oh! Update on his eating situation! I took him out of his terrarium and into the feeding bin, he ate a total of 5-7 crickets!!! I was so shocked! But happy of course! :)

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
