Hey, everyone!
I adopted a three year old beardie with moderate to severe MBD two days ago. Other than her deformities, she is healthy and happy, but I’m wondering if anyone has any suggestions for safe enrichment for a Beardies with these types of issues. Her back legs are essentially useless to her, and her front ones are a bit mangled, as well, so they easily get caught under her belly as she moves around.
The store had a log in her tank, and I have the same one for her as well, but twice she has toppled off of it and ended up in a compromising position (on her back or partially on her back). I remove the log any time I leave the house so that can’t happen when no one is around to help, but I’m hoping someone here might have suggestions for permanent enrichment/accessories that are completely safe for a beardie like my sweet baby. She LOVES being propped up on it (maybe it takes some pressure off her legs?), and I hate the though of her living in an essentially empty enclosure..
Any tips or suggestions are more than welcome! Thanks in advance!
