Hello,

How is Max doing? How is his beard looking now?

Yeah, I used to look at the Pogona disease email as well. I guess I stopped doing that awhile back.
Thanks again.

Max is ok I guess but not normal by any means. He is a little more active today . I put him by a sunny window today for about an hour and he was window dancing for a bit but then jumped off on to the couch.I have orally given him some pedialyte twice today along with some baby food and put him in his bath, along with a little more pedialyte..I also bought some milk thistle...put only found the capsule form which I can open up and pour the little powder out of. Have not tried that yet...I dont know how much to give him. I figured I'd dilute a little of it in some pedialyte and give it to him thru the syringe.

His beard is not as DARK as it used to be days ago, but it is still not normal. He seems a little more alert at times. When I put him in his tank though he seems to want to kinda sleep standing up sort of speaking. He will always go and lean up against something...and normally he would always go in his hide or up on his log...Now I cant get him to move from that spot.

Hello,

Ok, good that his beard is not quite as dark as it was.
On the milk thistle, just use a "small pinch" as you would if you were measuring a small pinch of salt. There are no set dosages on this for reptiles. It does not take much. Yes you can just mix up just a bit with water & pedialyte no problem.
So he is maybe a little more alert then? I hope so. Alot of times, they will sleep in a vertical position. If he is having trouble digesting, he might be sleeping in that position to help himself out.
Keep me posted on him.

Hello!

Poor guy, he definitely looked like he did not like his bath though! Does he normally like his baths, or not?
Was he white in color prior to you putting him in the bath? The black beard & black tail tip indicates stress & or pain.
Has he eaten anything today?
He looked good 2 months ago, what a change to the present.
Have you heard from your vet today?

Please let me know how he is doing.

Max always used to enjoy his baths.....he always seemed to float around in the warm water daily and poop...Never in his tank.
Tracie, he has been that color for quite a few days now ..no color change before or after his bath. I gave him some pedialyte today orally, and a little more food.

And yes I used to take him out with me in the Florida sun daily, to walk the dog or run to the mailbox. Have not done it lately though. I dont think he likes it too much anymore. He wants to jump off my shoulder right away.

I honestly dont think he will make it past the end of the week. Dont know what else to do.

I am so sorry he isnt doing well for you.I cant really think of much else but I do want to suggest that since his sugars are so high and also since he isnt responding you change a few things up in regards to feeding.Maybe back off the pedialyte for right now as it does contain dextrose and sucrose(sugar) and it may not be helping his levels at all.Instead maybe just stick with water. Also I dont know if your still giving it to him but I wouldnt give the carrots at all either just in case. When is his next visit to the vet?

I have not given him any carrot anything in over a month. The pedialyte was given a suggested by my vet and Tracie from this board. I am going to take him back to the vet for more blood tests this Saturday. If they are the same again wth the high Glucose levels ...I really dont know what the vet may suggest if anything??

I am going to call her Thursday morning and see if she thinks I should take him elsewhere that specializes alot more in Reptiles. Vet bills are huge money and I dont think I can keep paying for more and more tests.

Normally I would agree that the pedialyte would be best I am just trying to think outside the box here. Its hard since we really dont know what is causing his issues so the only thing I can think of at the moment is to try alternative methods and since the only thing we have to go on is high sugar levels I was thinking maybe if we can cut all sugars out of his diet completely it MAY help.I totally understand the costly vet bills and we all now you are doing the best you can for him.A specialist would be a great idea if at all possible.Hopefully Tracie will pop on soon and see if taking him off the pedialyte is worth a shot.

Hello,

How is Max doing?
Sorry he is having such a rough time! Has the vet gotten back with you yet?
It would be ok to take him off of the pedialyte to eliminate all sugars to see if that will make any difference in him.
He has been pale like that for a few days, that is not good. Simply going by the bloodtests, his liver or pancreas is having alot of trouble breaking down sugars for some reason.
To eliminate all sugars would mean we would have to cut out any starches that you are giving him like squash & just give water & protein that is it, & a few greens.
He definitely doesn't feel well, & I hope it is not organ failure.
Can you think of anything that he possibly could have been exposed to perhaps, like a toxin, etc?

Let me know how he is doing.

Hi Tracie
No the vet has not gotten back to me. I am going to try and call and she what else she may suggest. I will try and keep him on protein and regular water for the next few days and see if that helps any.
As far as toxins...none I can think of. He always ate his veggies in the morning...got his baths in the afternoon...and got his protein ( worms or crickets ) in the afternoon. He got like this all of a sudden.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
