Malygos, the Spellweaver *Feeding video 10/17*

A couple I took Thursday night before I left on my trip. I came home to an entire body shed so he's not a happy camper right now, lots of dark coloring and a bad appetite.

He woke up while I was trying to take pictures of him sleeping. He does not like the phone in his face.

"Sleepygos" taking a snooze on my shoulder. He's only done it a couple times since he usually gets bored and wants to run around.

'Gos is getting big and fat but I've been neglecting to post new pictures since he's been taking his time shedding (his body has been on the verge of shedding for two weeks). Someone has started shedding their body though and the hints I got from his tail seem to be coming true. Malygos is turning orange! He's more of a rusty orange right now (the parts that are shed and visible) but he's only 3 months so he's got a way to go. He's only shed his tail, legs, and his hips but he's working on it. I'll post more once he's finished!

Making a run for it on my desk today. He would not sit still and kept throwing himself off the desk.

Orange tail and front arms! His body is shedding from the waist up so we'll see how he looks once he's finished!

What a little cutie pie!! They grow soo quickly don't they.....When I got my little one from petsmart he was only 3.3g and 5 inches long from tip to tip now hes 10.14g and 8 inches long! I love the markings on your baby hes gorgeous!!

Thank you! He's certainly grown a ton when I look back at the picture of the first day I got him. I think Malygos is about 8 inches right now but it seems like most of it is body. I was drawn to his markings when I was looking at babies. At the show, I saw two with very dark stripes on their sides and wanted one of them. The other one was female and I didn't really want to deal with eggs so I went with the male. They stay dark, even when he's showing his happy colors but he's finished shedding except for his face and he's showing some nice orange! I just wonder if he's going to be orange with black bars, because a little tiger dragon would be awesome. :lol:

A few new ones of the 'Gos. I made him a crochet hammock and he avoided it the moment I put it in his tank. He finally figured out how to use it a couple days ago but not before doing some dorky things on it:

"How does this work? Am I doing it right?"

He figured it out but when I went to take a picture of him lounging on it, he did this instead:

"RAWR, I AM SCARY DRAGON! FEAR MY TINY PUSH-UPS!"

And I came upstairs to take my contacts out and found him sleeping like this:

He was in a normal position when I put him back after cuddling, I swear. How smashing your face into the glass while holding it tilted to the side is comfortable, I'll never know. It shows his nice new orange coloring and fat little belly though!

He likes to pretend he is very fierce indeed! He's been doing those little push-ups a lot lately and is starting to get his beard in: chubbier cheeks/neck, larger spines, gets a little darker if he is grumpy. I hope he isn't going to be a cranky "teenager." :roll:

I have a few 'Gos pictures floating around on my phone and camera that I need to post but I figured I'd post him in his new harness! It came Saturday, we tried it on today, and he was not happy at first. He did calm down and explore the floor before cuddling in for a snooze.

I had to let it out a bit for the picture since he puffed up as big as he'd go in protest! It's a little big but snug enough that he can't slip out. He's got enough room to grow into it before needing a bigger one. Look at those fat little cheeks!

I took a feeding video for some friends to see Malygos in action since they haven't met him in person yet and I thought I'd post it here. Not the best quality since it's on my phone but he's eating some fresh dandelion greens on my bed while his cage is cleaned. You can see his cage with the eyeball Halloween decorations on it in the background.

Yes, he's a normal leatherback. I'll have to get some new pictures soon since he's quite orange and his black tiger stripes are turning lavender. He's also a bit of a chubby boy.
