Are you treating him now with Panacur, Albon AND Reptaid??????????
Pet shop man i spoke to told me too. I started treatment four day ago Monday. Will wipe out his system and mention organ damage if I don't give fluids is that true. He weight raptor and recommend cc of all three. I do this but not getting better yet. May I ask why you QUESTIONED me?
The reason I
questioned you was because as Tracie said, Reptaid should NOT be given with any other medications. And, you need to have a wt on your beardie before any medications should be started because it gets dosed according to weight. Did someone weigh him? It's also true that you don't really know what is wrong with him so just treating him is very dangerous and can cause organ damage. Medications are very drying and can cause rapid dehydration. I hope you're keeping him well
hydrated by giving frequent baths and oral fluids.
We have all been trying to help this poor beardie but you're not letting us. Pet store employees are not vets and actually don't research beardies and have as much experience as most of us here have. I know this probably won't happen but I think the best thing to do for your beardie would be to take him to a vet and have him looked at. It sounds like he is suffering and he doesn't deserve that, you said you cared about him so this would be the best thing to do. If there is something seriously wrong with him and the vet says he isn't doing good at all and won't improve, then please do him, us and yourself a favor and have him put to sleep to end his suffering.
The first round of medications may not have worked because he may not even have parasites, he may be sick from something totally different. Pushing crickets in his mouth is not the right thing to do, you should actually be giving him something easy to digest like squash and chicken baby food as well as fluids.
