I have taken my bearded dragon to the vet so his health is settled as we are determining the cause of his issues but he is malnourished pretty badly due to whatever the issue is and I am trying my best to keep his weight up.
I have decided to create a type of puree or gruel for me to syringe feed to him and he hasn't seemed to have many issues with it so far. I will attempt to feed him this at least 5ml every day with at least a 1ml or close to of calcium liquid to keep his calcium up. Aswell with mixing these together it makes the gruel more liquidy and more like 6ml of food. The ingredients are (which this makes around 20 to 25ml of gruel/puree) Is:
60 Blueberries (They are really small so it takes that much to make a decent puree)
25 Superworms
15 Wax Worms
1 Teaspoon of Honey (Clover or whatever, just needs to be natural)
And every dosage of food, add around 1 ml of liquid calcium.
THE QUESTION I HOLD FOR YOU:
It does not smell very good and I am not keen on trying to eat worms, how long do you think this mix can be kept fresh in a plastic bag in the fridge? I was thinking probably using it nor more than a week or even just 3-4 days in the fridge. But I am not 100% since it does contain puree'd worms. Anyone can give me any idea on how long I should keep the baggy so it remains the freshest?
To elaborate as best as possible to everyone his issue, he has very good calicum but has a highness in a particular white blood cell, so it is possible he has some kind of parasite, internal growth, or something else internally we cannot see externally. He is going in for x-rays tomorrow [2/10]
