I was not aware that I could overdose my beardie on D3. He is my first one, and I had not dusted until two days ago. I've had him since the end of February and he was recently hatched. I researched (I thought ) everything for his tank. He has a 10.0 reptisun tube and a 100 watt flood light. The Reptisun tube is fairly new, because I did not know about coils when we purchased him. It came about a week later than he did.
His right side (cool side) temp is around 88 degrees. His warm side is 100-105 and his basking is 110-115. He loves his greens and we have been feeding him small dubia roaches and crickets 2x a day. He is bathed once a day or once every other day. He just finished a shed yesterday. He had been turning in his feet (not while walking, just sometimes when he was lying down) and so I asked the pet store if I should be dusting, and he said yes. He told me to dust 5x a week but nothing about dosing. I had read similar but again nothing about dosing, so I didn't even think of it. I think I used way too much when I dusted the crickets. They were coated with it and he ate 5 or 6.
I can't find anywhere what the symptoms of a D3 overdose are. I can only find that it is very bad and that dust should be calcium without D3 to prevent it from happening.
When I woke up today he was lying between his hidey rock and his wall in a very uncomfortable looking position. His hind legs look like they are dragging, but he can still use them. He didn't eat any greens until after his dinner feeding (usually he eats them 3x a day), and he has been licking things in his viv all day.
He seems very lethargic and sleepy. I don't know what to do, because I can't get the right combination of Google words to pop up a forum on this. I feel terrible and I should have known better.
I forgot to mention he has a carpet mat and no substrate.
