Mad girl about harness

My son's beardie has a harness now. He's had it on her 2x and both times she puffs her belly immediately and becomes as hard has a rock and is like a statue. Is she mad and just needs to get used to it? Maybe it's the wrong size? Thanks for the help.

It's a very unnatural feeling for them I'm sure you can imagine ha.

Some dragons never get used to it. Some, it takes awhile.

If it continues to be an issue for her, it'd be best to stop using one with her.

Thanks, guys! Yes, we think she's stressed with it. She's pretty feisty. We chuckle that if she were a person she'd probably have opinions about everything. Lol I ordered another harness to try with her. It will be a completely different fit on her body. We shall see.

Do you have any suggestions how my son can safely take her outside to bask in the sun if a harness just won't work for her?

Personally, I'm not in favor of harnesses. If a predator does attack, I wouldn't want it becoming a tug-o-war.

Yes. Many folks are using carrier/playpens--something like below (there are other types/styles as well). It's important to have a mesh top to prevent attacks from predators, and an area of shade to get out of the sun if the beardie so desires.
