Lowering humidity levels

I live in Georgia, aka the humidity capitol of the world. Once summer really gets going, the humidity is going to skyrocket, and it's already doing that in the house. Right now, Taz's humidity is reading 68%. Yeah, WAY too high. But how can I get it down? More heat lamps? The ambient temp is 71 on the cool side. I can't really go much hotter I think... I'll fry the poor guy! I don't have any sort of water dish or anything wet in his tank other than his veggies. The humidity is comming from our house itself. Even running the AC doesn't lower it by much. I can't afford a big operation dehumidifyer, which is what we'd need for our house, and I think even a small one would be pointless. As soon as it dried out the air in his tank, more air would come in to replace it anyhow, unless I want to seal the cage and suffocate him! :|
This humidity in his cage is much too high though. What can I do to get it down?

i live in North Carolina and have very high humidity in my house the only thing that i found would work is a dehumidifier i got one off craigslist for 100 bucks 176 in the stores but it holds about 2 or 3 gallons of water.that combined with ac keeps it at 35 to 45 percent humidity good luck :)

Ack. That's what I was hoping to avoid. Our house is two stories, built into a hill, so 3/4ths of the 'ground' floor are actually under ground. This makes for horrable humidity. And the house is pretty big, so I'd need like an economy dehumidifier that held several gallons! We rented on for a while when we were having a horrable mold problem downstairs thanks to the humidity, and it held like 15 gallons? Quite a bit! We were dumping that out every other day. If it comes to it, I suppose I'll just have to save up and get one.

Thanks :)
I think I've decided (for the time being) get one of those moisture eaters bucket things and stick that in the corner of his viv. The cage is certainly big enough  He won't be able to get into it and it will lower the humidity in the immediate area at least. We'll see!

Anyone else have any tips, tricks or ideas... I'm still open for suggestions! :D

Hmm I do know opening doors won't help... it's all one huge room! But I didn't thinkn about running a fan. There's no ceiling fans, but I do have a stand up fan. I'll try it! Thanks!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
