Loki loves to roam!

So Loki, 9 months old, just joined our household two days ago and we're already in love with him! Here he is the day he got here:


And here he is after falling asleep on my chest snuggled in his towel:


He is still a bit nervous I think, but I'm hoping the next week or two will see him relax more around us. At least he is eating his Phoenix worms, and tomorrow I'm getting a whole grab-bag of goodies for him - hornworms, silkworms, butterworms, and waxworms, all in one box! I can't wait to tempt him. He ate a couple leaves of his salad from my hand yesterday, too. Hasn't been too interested otherwise but I'll keep offering.

Today I got a shipment from LindasGoneBuggie.com - horn worms, wax worms, reptiworms, butterworms and silkworms. He nommed about half a dozen smallish horn worms and a few wax worms and silkworms. Wasn't sure what to do about those horn worms at first, but after he licked one and watched it squirming for a minute he decided they were good to eat.

Loki loved his worms so much he now refuses to eat crickets! :lol: I can't blame him, they are gross. Now he's eating superworms while I wait for a shipment of more horn worms, silk worms and butterworms and some dubias. (Yes, I am spoiling him sinfully.) I'm hoping to get a dubia colony established if he will eat them.

He has really settled in well I think. He's a pretty easygoing dude, never a hint of grumpiness so far, and as he's become more comfortable with us he's become more active. When he starts glass surfing I take him out to run around, and he's been happily exploring. We all love him!

I am sure that he loved his worms! LOL Most of them do. I hope you can get a dubia colony started also.
It sounds like he is doing well & adjusting to his new home now.
Keep us posted on his progress & any new pictures you have of him also.
They do love to run around the house & explore....it's great exercise for them also.

Loki was tearing all over the place earlier today, covered a lot of ground. He's been doing something new the last couple days, puffing up his beard and looking grumpy first thing in the morning - I can relate! He gets over it very quickly though. Tonight I took him out for "bedtime" a little early and at first I thought he was going to start zipping around licking everything, but when I put him on my lap on his towel and covered him up, he decided it was better to snuggle in and go to sleep! I lurrrve him, he's my baby. I will definitely try to get some more pics. My phone seems to never be in arm's reach when he's doing his cute stuff!

Forgot to say, he actually ate some grated acorn squash off my finger today, not that he was terribly enthused about it but he did eat it. :lol: Pretty sure he ate some of his mustard greens too, although it can be hard to tell when he starts trampling them all over the place.
