I was told that if you put rocks from the "outside" you should clean and bake (to kill germs, of course) them prior to putting them in with your bearded dragon. Could you put in a cool-looking stick, small limb, if you treated it in some way? Thanks

yep, you can bake it in the oven a 200 for 30 minutes or so.

I soaked mine in a 1 part bleach/10 parts water solution, and then soaked it in plain water for 30 min to get all the bleach out of it.

no worries on fire. I put the biggest limb that would fit in my over at 200 for an hour. works great
