Oz is new to our home after our last beardie died after only one week (R.I.P., Oz I...so little time but we loved you lots :) )

Here are some pictures of him:

Just hanging out...

Still trying to reach the top....we have removed the temp tape in case he could hurt himself.

Bath time for Oz....finally got the last piece of molted skin off!

Thanks on both accounts - you have a great source of help for me in caring for him so far. We will be taking him to the vet when we get paid so he can be examined and get his poop checked (now THAT must be a fun job!). We are very lucky in that there are only 4 reptile specialist vets in our state (Maryland) and one of them is just about 10 minutes from the house.

You are very lucky to have a reptile vet that close.

As for the checking out poop???
Don't be shocked if in a few months you don't find yourself rumaging through Oz's poops. :puke:
Beardies eyes and their poops will usually give away if there's something going on with your beardie.

Honestly I did give both yesterday's and today's poop a look. They both look just the same; black, good consistency, with a little white with it. I even made my son take a whiff of it. Not all wonderful to deliberately smell close up, but no smell from even a few inches away (I read somewhere that pungent poos are a bad sign). I could also tell he has been urinating because I could see the spots when I cleaned the carpet.

Ha..ha! See the sick things beardies make us do?
Poor boy...mean mommy.

BTW....the urate is the white part as long as it's bright white and not hard when he goes then that's what it should look like. The liquidy part is because he's well hydrated. Smell can me parasites but not always...beardie poop stinks I don't care what anyone says... And certain foods can make them smelly too.

I think he might be learning what his water dish is for. Last night and this morning, we tried moving one of his rocks out of the way so he could see the dish then (after washing our hands) dipping a finger in his bowl and putting a drip on his nose. He drank up quite a bit and my son said after I left the room Oz ran over to his bowl and took a few sips.

We have also discovered he just isn't going for the separate eating place bit. He'll eat maybe one, but we have discovered (by accident) how to tell if he is hungry. We were getting the feeder cage ready and put the cricket keeper next no his cage. He started banging his nose on the glass trying to get at them! So we moved the rocks out that the crickets hide in, put some in, and he ate about 7. When he is no longer hungry, he ignores the cricket keeper sitting by the glass. His system seems to be working good, he took a good dump as soon as he got in his bath today. Despite changing the water, he did not want to stick around to play today. Yeah, I'd do the same thing if I was bathing, LOL!

Here is a video of Oz drinking off our fingertips. (I only tried this by chance - when I went to sanitize his tank and rocks, etc, I put the dropper and its little rubber sqeezer in the water as well. After an hour soak, I let the water out and never found the plastic dropper part, just the rubber. It must have gone down the drain.)

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
