I have had Ash for a week and I haven't had too much trouble with him. He eats great, as long as its Phoenix worms and salad. He looks out of his Viv window all the time. So tonight, I was trying to get him to climb on my hand. Well, I got him on and he went to jump, so I put my thumb on his tail....so he couldn't fall....and that little sucker bit me!

I was startled and then I started laughing. Ash was giving me the SERIOUS STINK EYE after this incident! I didn't put him down...I just pretented it didn't happen.

It was just a pinch...but I think he thought I was going to let him go...

Too funny... I just posted on another post that I think it must be the full moon that is driving beardies crazy... I posted on another where the beardie bit a child and my boyfriend 10-month-old bit me for the first time today. I know in my case it was because I was wiggling my fingers (about the same size as his hornworms) and I think he mistook them for worms. I think you were probably right to ignore the incident. Tyson actually left marks but didn't break the skin. We put him in his viv to give him "time-out" because he enjoys being with us so much more than being in his viv, but I think with a new baby ignoring it is important. Best of luck and hopefully it was a one time thing for everyone.

Ive yet to get bit.... but i did hand feed her tonight some waxworms... seems to be the only thing so far that she will eat from my fingers...

So i know in case it happens in the future... what does a beardie bite feel like? i don'tk now waht but i envision it to feel like a a baby catfish nomnomnoming on your finger.... any1 care to share?

Well, to answer your question, a baby beardie bite is like a little pinch. Not bad at all no mark. I live in the south and I have all sorts of pets...it was like getting pinched by a green anole lizard. You could say like pinching yourself with a clothes line clip or a friend lightly pinching you. My beardie baby is only 8 inches and 25 grams, so he is little compared to an adult.

I have a larger baby beardie that I hand feed all the time and he is very careful not to bite me. So you can handfeed and they won't grab your hand on purpose.

I have been bitten by my hedgehog male, he was scarred and that hurt like a bugger, they have very sharp teeth. It def wasn't that bad and certainly not like a dog or cat. Hope I helped.

i have yet to take a tape measure to her, but i think it will be something i will plan for tomorrow in her bath, but i ESTIMATE she is about 14in tip to tip. She's very very good and hasn't even attempted to bite either me or my fiance yet... but im just curious, kinda like, i want to get it out of the way so i know lol ...

Well, I've been bit by Ms Priss a couple times, and she'd not much bigger than your average baby- 13 1/2 inches and 145 grams. Her bites do hurt, it actually broke the skin once. It's not like a frightfully hurtful thing, but it's not exactly pleasant.

i had my first bite on sat while rubbing the top of my baby Wubbzy head he is a little over a year, and it shocked me :shock: and after gave a look like he was angry with me. i still love him and acted like nothing happen but he broke skin no blood.
