Liquid Nails for Tiles?

I am about finsihed with my home viv and the only left is to put in the porcelain tiles for the floor. Would Liquid nails be okay to use? I dont ever plan on removing them and will use tile sealer to make cleanup easier.

yes liquid nails will hold tile down.

Liquid nails will work, but if you mortar then grout in the tiles it will look really nice Both are great aha

I just finished grouting in ceramic tiles last night. I used PL premium to glue down the tiles (but I ran out of No more nails building the viv so I had to buy a new tube anyways). The guy at the hardware store said No more Nails would work too just PL premium would be a stronger bond. It isn't like people are walking on the tiles all day so you should be perfectly fine.

I grouted last night and it was messy but looks great this morning! I am sealing tonight with water-based grout sealer from Tile Guard. It was from Lowes. I don't know if porcelain tiles need sealing. As long as it isn't a porous tile like a natural stone you should be ok. If not just try and find a grout & tile sealer that is water-based. I know their are sealers that do both but I had a hard time finding water-based sealer.

You could also try loctite brand PL375 it works on just about everything. I use it for all my glueing needs. Its only a little more expensive then liquid nails. Give it a shot.

Thanks for the info,

I got the tiles glued down using liquid nails, let it set for a few days and then put on the grout. Tonight I am sealing the grout with water based sealer. Then I will let it set for a week and finally Frodo will have his new home.
