Lilly and Lyla

I finally got my new baby today! She has done great so far. Other than a dark belly she has shown no signs of relocation stress. At 6 months and 104 gm, she ate a meal that would have rivaled my boyfriends 10 month old, 314 gm dragon. She had hornworms, butterworms, and crickets. We actually had to cut her off on cricket because I stupidly bought some that were way to big (we picked out the littlest ones). I have already taken several pictures so I just have to share. I will be updating this post periodically with more pictures and stories. (I have to add my funny cricket story here. Yesterday I went to feeder's supply to get crickets because I won't be able to get bulk until monday. A girl in her 20s or so was helping me. She had jeans on with torn knees. As she was almost done with my crickets she says "Oh my gosh". "What?" I asked. "A cricket just crawled into my pants." She hurried off to go take care of it and another worker came to finish my cricket order. I found it hilarious).
On to pictures:

Hey Barb-
What happened is that when his poison ivy blistered and was opened by his scratching or whatever it left him susceptible to infection. He contracted some type of confection (the doc said probably a strep or staph bacteria). That caused his leg to swell so badly (it was quite infected) that it constricted the veins. When the veins are constricted the blood becomes agitated while trying to pass through and forms a clot. He is supposed to get out tomorrow *fingers crossed*.
It is actually Lyla's worm bowl that she is pooping in. I don't have the girls wake up until after I leave for work in the mornings so I leave food for them (well, Lyla anyway, Lilly is under the impression we wake up at 6pm). I have discovered though, that if I leave her 30 worms rather than 15 or 20 she does not poop in the bowl. What a brat!
Lilly is doing her typical brumation but without giving up food. She was in her blankies at 4 when I came home today, but as soon as she saw me get Lyla's food out at 6 she darted to her basking rock like "See mommy, I'm awake you can feed me!" She's so funny. I will say I prefer this kind of brumation over the full brumation.
I'm really hoping my computer comes back soon, I miss it quite a bit and need it to get work done. I can't officially use computers at school because I'm not a teacher until next week when the board meets and I can be approved (Gee, sure seems like I'm a teacher).

Hope Brian can come home tomorrow Sara. He's probably gonna have to take it easy for a while.

Lilly is so funny, she wants to have her sleepy time but is wide awake when the food comes out. I agree, semi-brumation is much better than full brumation for sure.

When did they say your computer would be ready? How is your new position going by the way? Is that one student still giving you a hard time?

I knew she was trying to tell you something. :laughing6:

Yikes! Poor Brian that must have been so miserable as if the poison ivy isn't bad enough. :(

It's tomorrow!
Are they letting Brian go home? Is he already home? I hope so! I'm sure he'd much rather be in the comforts of home.

Hugs, Snuggles, and Prayers that Brian is feeling better.

Good to hear that Brian is recovering, what a drag to go through all that. Poor guy, glad he's coming home soon.

Lyla was definitely trying to tell you something, more worms! Using poop as a language is done by alot of dragons, or so I've heard. I'm lucky that my bunch are afraid of their poop, so if they poop in their tanks, they spend the rest of the time until it's cleaned up on the other side. Too much!

So you're not a teacher, even though you're teaching? Sounds like the school boards up here, too. So next week you'll be certified & allowed to use the school computers, hopefully you'll have yours back again way before then.

Good luck with your new job,
Deb

I thought Brian was released yesterday; that's why I didn't bug you all night, figuring you'd be spending time with him.
Hope he'll be going home today. Must be such a drag being in the hospital.

I knew Lyla was pooping in the bowl to make a statement. That was her protesting to not getting enough wormies
Lilly's too funny. She didn't want to miss out on yummies when you feed Lyla.

Brian is home. His doc said he can resume normal life so tomorrow well go out to dinner. We were going to go tonight but I just felt to run down to make the drive out there today.

Sara, I got the weird post, too, I've asked Diane to look into it, I got a duplicate post, so took a few pages. Don't know where it came from either, never seen this poster.

I missed the weird post. I have some guy emailing me with beardie questions, said he was banned from .org. Sigh, guess I need to remove my email.

Dawn about 2 days ago I got two pages of advertising from a poster in Manila. I let the mods know, so did Lori, and they were removed. There was nothing offensive, but our threads don't need any unwanted posts, so they were removed. They were all ads on getting mortgages & other finanical info. As for your email guy, can you prevent him from reaching your email? I mean you're not a counsellor for beardie owners, not unless you're getting compensated for your time!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
