Like to bite

When I try to let my bearded dragon come to my hand he want to bite and run. he does this when I try to gently pet him, or trying to get him in his bath or clean his enclosure. How do I fix this.

Please start feeding him some BSFL they are a good staple and a good way to hand tame your dragon. its going to start w/ a lot of patience. please get a piece of clothing or a fleece blanket inside his hide something w/ your scent on it. he is going to haft to learn to trust you. It will take some time. also do not approach from above come in from the side, he will think your a predator coming from above.

Another i have found that helps is just before lights out get him out and let him snuggle with you until he is good and asleep. Be consistent and he should get used to the routine pretty quickly.

You can just put your hand down near him + wait to see if he'll climb up, many of them will.

Agreed with all of those before me. We present as a huge giant and beardies communicate the only way they know how. Have patience and work at his timeframe and on his terms and you'll be fine. It may not feel like it now but the beardie will come along. We all have been there before.
I am not sure if you are spending time around the enclosure, but remember beardies like to stalk, I mean watch their owners until they grow familiar with us- learn our habits and it assists with trusts. Just carry about with your daily tasks but do it in his eyesight. Good luck!

Great point to the last post! Be present, let your friend watch you and check you out! You're both adjusting to each other! Hand feeding is a great way to build trust, whatever he or she likes, fruits, veggies. Just let your hand sit still in the tank. If you do get a little bite or scratch it's not that bad! Mine got me a couple times and actually looked guilty afterwards lol!
