So I took Obie's 100watt Megaray SB out of her crossfire enclosure recently because it was producing about 108 degrees at her basking spot (which had to be at the very bottom of the tank, not raised, to keep it that low) and she was spending alot of her time hiding and little time basking. I ordered a Repitsun 10.0 which is on its way from lllreptile. Currently I have one 40watt Halogen flood bulb that is producing 97-100 at her basking ledge.
Since I removed her Megaray she has been really active running around the tank a lot more and only going to her hide shortly before lights out. She has also been headbobbing and glass dancing quiet a bit. Her appetite seems to have remained pretty consistent. When the Reptisun arrives I am going to need to put in a branch so she can get closer to the uvb.
Any ideas why the absense of the MVB, and currently UVB, is making her more active? I was thinking she may have been actually getting too much UVB and/or heat.
