Jason,

Haven't been on in a while myself so I'm catching up the past several months. So happy to see LG doing so well, and sorry to hear of your medical issues. Hope things have been better on the meds.

I'm also loving your timed exposures. My mom and I have a summer tradition where we do some light drawings when we go on vacation. We use sparklers. We tried glow sticks but they don't produce sharp lines. The LED flashlight works great and now wheels are turning with ideas for this year! Usually, she controls the camera while I do the drawing. Here's one of the best we've done:

Here I have added color to it. I use this one as an avatar on some forums:

Here's another couple decent ones:

Yeah, we're nerds. 8)

I was wondering, on the one where you spelled your name...did you do the drawing backwards, or did you flip in in post processing? I drew my treble clef backwards, although it would have been easier to flip it afterward, but I'm a purist like that, lol.

Sorry to hijack. Just wanted to say hello!

Hello there-
What an incredible story! I adopted a special BD this weekend from a rescue organization. He was also the victim of a tank mate. He is a double amputee with one arm being completely removed and the other one is missing just short of the elbow. His name is Spike. He was rescued by a group. He had been caged with a larger BD. They were poorly fed and Spike was chewed on. His tail is also missing the tip. He has fully healed from his injuries and is very good at getting around. I'm working on his tank to make it comfortable and safe. I'm in the process of reading your long thread. If you have any suggestions or things you have found along the way to be helpful let me know. I'll try to get a good picture of him. He's a good looking guy! This is my first BD. My vet suggested them as being great family lizards. I'm really enjoying him so far!

Nasubi77; Those pics are very awesome! I can't wait till 4th of July to take some long exposure firework pics... Thanks for posting these, I enjoyed them; About spelling my name and if I flipped it... Yes I did. I tried about 5 times to do it backward but kept messing up on one letter or the other, so I just bit the bullet and flipped it in photoshop... I wish there was an art gallery here where we could post our images, but I suppose that would take up alot of room on the server .

Riled;

Very cool you decided to bring home a dragon in need, sorry I didn't respond sooner. I would stick to the main basics that this site goes by; Keep the temperatures on the hot/cool sides of the tank in the safe ans healthy range(I believe 75-80 on the cool side, 100-110 on the hot? Is that right everyone?). No sand, use coarse tile or repticarpet or a combination of the two; Particle substrates(sand, gravel, walnut shells) can harbor desease-causing bacteria and can also clog up a dragon's digestive system. Keeping them out of this material all together will prevent you from having to deal with some potentially serious complications. Also make sure to invest in proper lighting; The only really reputable UV-B fluorescent light for reptiles is the ZooMed ReptiSun 10.0 linear tube. Don't get Exo-Terra anything and don't get any kind of spiral or compact bulb for your dragon's tank; These bulbs can harm their skin/eyes when used improperly, and are ineffective when used as directed. Just stick with the ZooMed ReptiSun 10.0, you can get it at PetMountain.com for very cheap and they will have it delivered to your door. even with the shipping, it is still MUCH cheaper there(40 after all costs) than from a pet store(80^after all costs)... It's midnight where I am, I'm kinda drawing a blank... Just keep on doing what you're doing awesome job; And don't worry about reading the entire thread, it is pretty long after all!

fresnowitte; Thanks, sorry I haven't been on as much lately... Will take some good close up's during LGs next feeding.

sheri85; Aw, thanks a million. To tell you the truth though, I just couldn't have done it any differently. Things have slowed down for me now because of family matters, but for a while my house was a virtual reptile, amphibian and crustacean sanctuarty. I simply was unable to turn these animals away considering the state the were in... Again, thanks for taking an interest and thanks for being an animal lover.

More new pictures coming soon everyone, going shopping tomorrow so will get some good flavors of babyfood and perhaps some solid veggies as well(give those another go and see if she'll start eatting them again)...

LG made a mess in her tank today so I cleaned that up and changed everything for fresh; Tiles, towels, paper towels, etc...

After the enclosure was all cleaned up she looked pretty animated and was wanting out of the tank so I brought her outside for a while to feel the wind and enjoy the sun on her skin; I stayed close and she seemed pretty comfortable:

LG's story is just amazing and I'm very happy to hear that she grew up to be a healthy, beautiful dragon. You can just tell by the spark in her eyes in all her pictures that she's very thankful for you saving her. Again, her story is just as beautiful as she is. God bless you and LG. :D

These two pics are so precious (so much that I'm at the verge of tears -- happy tears, of course).
Jason, you are doing such a great job with LG. Her eyes say so much, and you can definitely see the love she has for you.

Can't wait to see the feeding pics.

(P.S. Hope everything is settling down enough for you)

Ok, everyone; I know you have all been waiting for some feeding pictures, and rest assured they're coming... I thought I'd upload this video first, since I've been working on it for a while.

Feeding pics will be up today or tomorrow, so for now, enjoy this sweet music video I put together:

I reccently checked out beautifuldragons nutrition & watched the 2 videos you made. Jason you have such serious talent. They first film you made for the contest still makes me cry for happiness that you found LG and the 2nd video is so touching. Makes me realize that LG is with the right slave, as you've given her a great life, through all your ups & downs. I just love your photography.

Hope all is ok with you health wise,
Deb

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
