Hello John,

Oh geez, frustrating I know! Is the weather up & down where you are?
He should be starting to come out of it pretty soon though, since spring/summer is around the corner. At least he isn't totally out of it & still wanting to come out a little.

Let us know how he is doing.

Oh yeah, it snowed here yesterday! Worst winter in the northeast I can remember. Wish I could go to sleep for the whole thing too!

Thanks for the advice. I will check in soon.

Best,
John

Weekly George update with a question.....

I took him out for his bath on Friday and I noticed he's starting to look a bit thin and quite wrinkly. I gave him a good 15 minute soak (he didn't drink, never does, not even from drops on his nose), put him on his basking spot and within 30 minutes he was back in his hide, out cold.

Does he still look OK? He hasn't been awake for about 6-7 weeks.

Thanks!

He looks healthy to me. His arms and legs are filled out nicely and I don't see his hip bones or ribs sticking out at all.

Thanks, Cooperdragon. I think it was because he was so fat before! :)

Well, I guess I'll continue with the baths and try to be patient. The wrinkly-ness kind of scared me.

Hello,

I think he looks good, his hamstrings & arms are still filled out. He may be just a bit dehydrated, but that does happen sometimes during brumation.
How much weight has he lost, overall?
Hopefully he will come out soon to start basking!

Thanks for the response, Tracie. I don't have a scale, unfortunately. I suppose I could get one.

Hello,

You are welcome. Sure, the scales are not real expensive. You could pick one up at walmart, or any kitchen supply type of place or order online, too.

Let us know how he is doing.

Hello,

Oh my, he is awake, finally! LOL It does look like he is rather annoyed with getting his picture taken, in that first picture. How cute he is. It appears he is hydrated & his colors are great also!
Hopefully he will stay out now? Let us know how he comes along & if he stays up.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
