Leashes and Harnesses

The weather is heating up, the yard is almost dry, and soon the grass will be growing again, which means that it is time for Merlin to experience the great outdoors. While I'm sure he will be extremely happy about this, I'm the one left worrying in the corner. My most recent dilemma is about what type of harness I should order for him. I'd like to to be easy to put on, non-cumbersome, and light weight. In my searches I have found two different types of harness and would like to get your guys' opinion. These types include:

The "show lead" from here http://www.etsy.com/listing/184383087/reptile-harness-6-ft?ref=sr_gallery_9&ga_search_query=bearded+dragon+leash&ga_ship_to=US&ga_page=1&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery

I'm worried that this might put pressure on his delicate stomach or pull at his elbows, but I like how light weight it appears.

The "vinyl lead" from here http://www.etsy.com/listing/181125664/m-018-reptile-leash-medium-bearded?ref=shop_home_active_13

My worries with this one is that it will get in the way of his leg movement, it would annoy him, it will be hard to put on, or it will be too bulky. So, would anyone mind weighing in and providing their opinions or experiences? I'm on the wall regarding which one is better for Merlin and I trust you guys to lead(pun intended)[/size me to the best decision.

I actually think this would would be easiest to put on, less cumbersome & less restrictive for him. You would have it snug but not tight enough to bother his stomach or any other parts. http://www.etsy.com/listing/181125664/m-018-reptile-leash-medium-bearded?ref=shop_home_active_13

I actually use an iguana leash & harness but they are getting harder to find. It is similar to the one in the link above though. I tried the other one with the material over the chest but my beardies never liked them and would just lay with their heads down & not move.

Let us know what you decide.

I just bought the one from etsy with the beads as well as a harness vest type one. My beardie wants nothing to do with the vest but is doing great with the other. I'm happy with it. I leave is loose. Gives me piece of mind And it doesn't restrict her at all. First try she Let me use it!!!

Thanks guys! I was leaning toward the simpler one with beads, and I think you guys sealed the deal! Hopefully Merlin can start spending time outside catching rays

I love mine. She could care less if it is on. I'm sure you can get it on your Beardie with no problem. Just make sure it's not around her neck but under and loose. Good luck!!!!!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
