Leapin Lizard

I see all these stories of dragons loving their baths. Not so with Norbert. He will marginally stand still for a few minutes, then jumps at the side of the bathtub. Twelve months later, he still hates them.

He's been having a few more baths lately, which he hates, because he's been dragging his tail through his poop. So after his bath he was sitting on my shoulder. He seemed alright. Then next thing I know he jump on the top of my head! I can't say his nails felt very good on my scalp. I was laughing and screaming while trying to get him off my head without hurting him.

He really would have had his revenge if he'd pooped while up there. Fortunately the reason he was in the tub was that he had just pooped, or I'll bet he'd have done it. Revenge of the lizard! Argghhhh.

I have one who hates her baths with a passion.... She grabs the sides of her tub trying to pull her feet out of the water. TG the others love it i dont think i can handle more than one beardie giving me the sad pouty face

Reptar is still a baby so at the moment i usually give him baths in the sink, it has sloped edges and unless i have my hand around him to ensure him that he is safe he gets terrified and tries (but fails) to scrape his way frantically out of the sink.

I give Scorch a bath in the wet bar sink. When she has had enough she will jump up to the counter. Then she sits there looking at me as if to say "I have escaped! Now dry me off already." She only occasionally poos in the bath, but when she does it seems to be about 30 seconds after I have placed her in there. If I didn't know any better I would think she does it on purpose to frustrate me. Ok, drain, refill... what a little stinker!

Puff despises the bath, I bath him in a medium height Rubbermaid and he scales the walls clean and clear; lands right on the floor. Today he actually drank some water out of the bath before he jumped out, that is a huge improvement!

Heh, they sure do know how to get revenge on us, don't they?

None of mine like the bath either. I was hoping the new little guy would, but alas, no dice. He does swim, though, which is more than the other two ever do in the bath. Well, I should give Leto some credit: he tolerates baths.

haha yea they do some funny things in the bath, reptar likes to do the whole, blow up like a balloon thing just to keep himself out of the water.

I have to use the bathtub. Despite how slippery it is, Norbert can jump out the side of the sink or hurt himself trying. I pour water over him lightly on his back and sometimes have to work on his tail. Some days that's really hard because if my hand gets anywhere near him he'll leap onto my arm. THEN, just try to get him back off and back into the tub. Not likely. Then he flattens himself like a pancake so it's hard to even get him off me with one hand. Add in his nails, and he's stuck on you until he wants to let go. Or, jumps for your head.

you can just leave norbert on your hand and put your hand in the water. thats the only way my beardie will take a bath. the bad thing is if i move my hand and i make waves he freeks out and jumps into the water.

I have found that if I leave Puff on the back of my hand and move the water with my other hand he will stay calm. He even dips his head into the water when he is on my hand. I pour water onto the top of his head and he closes his eyes and laps it up! When he is finished with the bath usually only 5minutes into it he will still jump out but at least its not after 30seconds!

Brutus hates if anything touches the top of his head. He's weird about it. If i get one drop of water on the top of his head, he tries to escape the bath pronto!
