Lazarus has been eating phoenix worms, and dubia nymphs, also trying some fruits and veggies which is harder then one would think. Her poo has been perfect! I will have a normal poo pic and not normal. We had ordered some hornworms and she would get them only as a treat and not more then 2, and not more then a couple times a week. Since giving her them her poo has changed drastically. It smells horrible, it always had a stink but p.u. yesterday and today I noticed not normal poo 2nd pic. It has a slime and undigested phoenix worms. This all started after hornworms were introduced. Any suggestions? We've completely cut them out of her diet, and I with held dubias today also. She has normal poos and no poo problems like going, expect this. Open to any suggestions.

It's pretty common for Phoenix worms to come out undigested as the dragon gets bigger. Often the dragon just swallows them rather than chewing, and sometimes actually come out alive.

As far as odor, any new food item can cause the poo to smell different though, so that might be all it is.

Is how slimey and mucusy it looks normal too? Because we've only had her for about 2 months and have never seen it look like it does in the 2nd picture.

As long as your dragon has access to sufficient basking temperatures, i think you are ok. That poop just looks like a poop to me. For whatever reason, sometime they have more liquid discharge with the poop then usual, no reason for alarm .

Yes temps are really good, should've stated that before sorry. Basking temps 105-110 with mid 90's gradient surrounding the basking spot. Cool side is 78-80. Use a Reptisun 10.0 T5 HO uvb. We use 2 different probe thermometers, combo temp/hygrometer probe and an IR gun. Eyes are clear and bright, color is good, interactive and alert. Guess we'll know more in a day or so since we stopped giving the hornworms. This all started after introducing those to the diet. Just got worried and wanted to seek others opinions. We really appreciate all your help thank you!

Hornworms have a lot of moisture + " goo" in them. If you ever see your beardie bite in to a medium or large [ my large dragons eat the huge ones ] you may see a lot of liquid goo pop out. That is probably what is causing the difference in Lazarus' poo.

So I bathed my dragons this afternoon and both pooped at the same time the females had 2 full undigested wax worms in both dead here's a picture

Thank u guys ! We figured it out and it was the hornworms, so we just stopped giving them to her. She only had as treat but it was gross lol. And for some reason she refuses to poo in bath, always next day. Her poo is back to normal but we have too seen phoniex worms in her poo it was always small ones, so we have been gut loading them with yummy baby food that has things that she can eat in it and whole wheat bread. Actually got recipe from this site :) love this site!

If you start your own thread, I am sure plenty of people will be happy to help you. Please refrain from what is called "Hijacking" a thread. I will keep my eye out on the "New Posts" feed in case you are still needing help.

Glad that you were able to figure out what it was. :) And genestealer, you were on topic so it's fine to post on a thread about a similar situation going on with your dragon. Unless the original poster objects, it's fine. This is a pretty friendly forum. :)

The only thing that some posters need to watch for is commenting on very old threads, bringing them up fro 8,9,10 months ago in some cases where the dragon in the discussion has even died.

Undigested food is a symptom of an issue , i was assuming he was here looking for help as to why his dragons werent digesting food, which would require a seperate analysis of genestealers setup and husbandry., given how his post was very broad (there could be a never ending amount of things leading to said indigestion versus it being a case "my dragon also is eating hornworms and having problems digesting food" )which is not "on topic" of lazarus poop. While not harming anyone , it is beneficial to all parties involved , OP and other poster, to keep the conversation limited to the original topic or not far off. I didnt mean to come off negative towards you in anyway. The intent of my post was, in all honesty, to help you get prompt and direct feedback towards whatever issue i was assuming you may be having.

I was inaccurate in my assumption of the intent of your post, which it seems it was on topic, and for that i apologize Genestealer! We definitely encourage all on topic feedback, please dont get the wrong idea!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
