Hi All,
I posted this question in the Behavior section but nobody has answered so I figure someone in this section will likely be able to answer it.
There is no male involved. But it is breeding behavior. ..

Stella is approximately 2.5 yrs old (not sure exactly as we are not her original owners ... actually they thought she was a boy)
So, less than 2 months ago, for the first time in her life, she started laying eggs... then a few weeks later the cycle again... but now this is the 3rd time in less than 2 months that she is getting ready to lay again. Going nuts trying to get out of her viv, head bows, burrowing, etc.
1st week of April.. she layed 7 and then a few days later 19. Barely got back to normal, maybe two weeks. and then went back into breeding mode again.. laid 2, then 5 days later she laid 23. Only been back to normal a week or two.
Now already she is again preparing. !

Is this normal for her to do it that often?? and will it continue, or is it a "spring" thing ... It is quite exhausting for her of course and since she stops eating for a week before and and after, she of course is not getting all the nutrients she would normally get.. Not to mention she's driving the whole family crazy by trying to get out of the viv all of the time. The plexi-glass is so scratched up in one area that we can't even see through it!

thanks

Must be something weird going on this year. Our female Scorch, who has never even seen a male beadie is doing the same thing. She is now laying her 5th infertile clutch this season. Each clutch has been between 24-36 eggs each. My husband is beside himself worrying about the toll all this egg laying will have on his little girl. We got her as a tiny hatchling winter 2008 and she did have the crazy breeding behavior in years before but no eggs. The info on breeding I have seen before says it is normal for them to lay 2-3 clutches, so I am wondering what is causing the excessive egg laying too. Sorry it is not an answer, but at least we know our beardies are not alone in their strange behavior.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
