lanolin in a custom built viv

I built a 4' x 2' x 2' viv. It has a shelf 6'' high and another shelf 14'' high. I was wondering if i could use lanolin at the bottom of the viv and I am also putting 10 lbs of sand on top of the lanolin. Is lanolin safe for a bearded dragon? It will also have reptile liner on the shelfs.

why sand??? sand is bad for them i use tile easy to clean and files there nails down naturaly but its up to u
