~Katrina's Magnificent Menagerie~9/16 BABY PICS!!

I'm so excited that tomorrow (10/13/09) my new little Beardie daughter Fiona :love10: will start her journey home! Princess Fiona was born in California,Barbara (fresnowitte) has been preparing her for her forever home in Washington. Her parents are PVT Blaze and Ms. Tiggs, some of you know her brother Bligg. I am anxiously awaiting her arrival! So without further adu, here is Princess Fiona

Yes, Karma laid infertiles so I decided to put her with Neo and so I'm looking forward to those babies, ALSO (drumroll please......) Delila and Mojo bred!!!!! WOOOOOOO!!! Hopefully I'll get another shot at some Mo babies! Business is picking up, I love it! It's soooo much work though!

Yikes! That's kind of upsetting to me, honestly I think she is WAY too young to be bred. She just turned 10 months and she was bred? I have her hatch date as Sept 10, 2010 I believe. I really hope she makes it through that and her babies are healthy. Even if she laid infertiles, I would never breed a female at that young of an age. She isn't even fully physically mature yet, even though I'm sure she's a big girl like her mom Kora. Not the best decision in my book! I'd love to see pictures of Kimber and Karma if you have some though. I'm sure they're really nice.

Katrina is an expert on beardies, so I think it's her decision whether to breed one of her dragons with another.

Katrina, I'm really looking forward to Mojo & Delia's babies; don't forget to wear sunglasses, as that mix will be super neon orange, I'll bet.

I just wanted to let you all know that Crush passed away today...He has been ill since I got him in February and even though his last coccidia test was clean he hasn't thrived. I know there are many other people that have had very sickly dragons from bloodbank and he and Envy arrived sick have have struggled the last several months...I am having a hard time with it, I tried everything that I could and just couldn't save him...

Sorry but exactly what credentials makes someone an "expert" on beardies? I'm a vet tech who went to University of Delaware for an animal science degree minoring in veterinary medicine, I've owned 5 dragons, bred 3 clutches....everyone would have their own opinion on what makes someone an "EXPERT." To me, someone who cares about the health and well being of their animals would NEVER breed a 10 month old dragon. I'm sure you know the recommendation is 16-18 months at the earliest. Ask any well known, well respected breeder and they will tell you breeding a 10 month old is not only dangerous but will stunt it's growth and is not in the dragon's best interest. It's purely her decision, I agree. Let's hope she made the right one here, and doesn't lose her during her egg laying since she is so young and her still-growing body is being deprived of the calcium it needs at this time to make the eggs. The only reason this bothers me is because this particular dragon is one that I bred, and care about.

Sorry to hear about Crush.
Breeding a female that is laying infertile eggs isnt the best cure all in My book. Be careful and if you have a problem due to age call me. Really really watch this one for binding and holding eggs.
