My two and a half month old beardie, Sophie, is acting strange. She is 58 grams, 10.5 inches long. She is in a shed right now. This morning I soaked her for about 5 minutes to help with the shed. Put her back in her tank and she ate endive and raspberries, for the very first time, that I dangled in front of her. She's only eaten crickets and tiny mealworms until today. She also ate 3 superworms (first time for those) and 5 crickets today. (she likes to eat!)
My reason for concern is: She is on her basking shelf (91 degrees) and rubbing against the glass and shelf (I assumed to get the dead skin off) then all of a sudden she is gaping and flaring her beard at nothing that I can determine would bother her. Then she did a weird motion with her beard/throat that looked as if she was trying to throw up. I don't see anything in the back of her mouth/throat.
Now she seems more comfortable, and calm. She has old skin still hanging on her neck, back and a little on her head between her eyes and nose. Is she acting weird because the old skin is constricting around her neck? Should I soak her more? or leave her in her basking light to digest the superworms she ate 15 minutes ago?
