Hey, so my little buddy Mordecai, just finished up the last of his medication for parasites, he had both pinworms and coccidea but the vet said he should be healthy now, only he's not eating now, he basks well enough, and he's been very active, especially in the last two weeks, and he'll eat superworms, but he won't touch a cricket and he'll only eat maybe two bites of cactus pad.

to give you guys an idea, two months ago he would literally eat crickets till he couldn't move if i let him, and loved collard greens and squash, now he won't even touch them even when they are as fresh as i can possibly buy, he ate some bits of carrot, but it didn't seem to digest well, his stool is also very runny and small, cuz theres nothing in his belly i imagine; I know a lot of the runny comes from the medication since he always drinks water after i give it to him and its liquid too, so that makes sense.

I also can't get anyother insects since we have some really strict laws against dubia roaches and phoenix worms and the like in canada.

but does anyone have any ideas on how i can get him eating again? I'm a little worried about the poor fellow, he's only 9 months old and he's been on medication for most of his life; i just want him to be healthy. (he had to have part of his tail amputated due to poorly healed bite wounds from other dragons prior to my purchase of him that led to tail rot so he was on medicine from that for a while and right after he healed up, I found out about the parasites.)

The vet said he was a pretty healthy weight for his size, if a bit on the low end, and told me i was doing everything i should be for him but I'm still concerned. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It's good that he is active. Did you offer probiotics during his treatment? If not, his stomach may be a bit out of whack from the medication. I suggest offering some bene-bac (for birds and reptiles) or some acidophiliz+ for a few weeks and see if that helps bring back his appetite.

Yes. What CooperDragon is good. Also read this article "Coccidia & Parasite Infection Care" which is listed in the articles section of this site on the right-hand side of this page. It's under the sub-heading of Care and Husbandry in the Articles section.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
