Izzy Lu and "Feisty" Fionna Tales UPDATES

Loving being a beardie mom!!! This site is awesome! Meet some really nice folks and have seen some beautiful beardies!! I've taken sooooo many pics of her already....just gotta share them.....and her! Yup.....I'm a proud MaMa!! :love5:

She has grown so much! Her colors are only going to get brighter!

She really has!!! She has a bit of a baby belly now. Not quite as fragile as she was the first week. Still skittish but will let me pet her under her chin.

She absolutely cracks me up when she hunts her crickets!!! :lol: She hunts them so excitedly that she literally almost falls over!!!! I laugh every time I give her crix!! It's hysterical!!!

I can't believe I haven't posted since November!!!! Time FLIES!!! Between the holidays and WORKING the holidays, well I was quite busy.

Just a few updates on my girls. Fionna is growing by leaps and bounds!! She makes me laugh everyday!!! She went from 13g in October to 122 grams!!!! She's got some weight to her and boy can she EAT!!!!! I'm down to two feedings a day now. Nice salad in the morning and crickets in the evening. She is a GREAT eater!!

Izzy FINALLY woke up!!!!! She went down the end of September and woke up just last week. She has a TON of energy. I've never seen her this active. She runs around her cage like there is no tomorrow pausing every now and again to bask. She lost about 5g during her sleep but the way she eats now, I can see that won't be a problem.

Fionna knows Izzy is there. She head bobs and does a slow wave when I have Izzy out. I have some funny video of her waving. Izzy doesn't seem to care much one way or the other!! It's funny to watch!!

As soon as I have time, I will post some new pics. Fionna doesn't even look like the same lizard!!!

Weather is forecasting a minimum of 8-12 inches of snow here in NJ. Looks like instead if milk, bread, and eggs, I have to get crickets, greens and fruits!!!

We only got 3 inches of snow. What a bummer!! I like being snowed in once or twice a year.

Izzy still running all around her cage, acting like a nut. I'm not sure if it's because she knows Fionna is here or its from being asleep for so long. She was sleeping when I got Fionna so that could be it.

Fionna is shedding her tail and two legs. Seems she is constantly in shed. Her appetite doesnt decrease at all. She is a little piggie. She has warmed up to me so much in the last month. She loves being out and about. Her colors are still red. in looking forward to see her adult colors.

My dog has something going on with her back leg. She is 13 yrs old now so not a young girl. She is holding it up and won't out any pressure on it so it's off to the vet we go. Wish us luck.

My two girls are thriving!! Fionna is growing so quickly!! She is constantly waving and bobbing at Izzy. Izzy ignores her but Fionna keeps trying to get her attention.

Izzy seems to be a completely different dragon than she was prior to brumation. She is a bundle of energy and wants OUT!! When I take her out, she runs from couch to love seat to laundry basket then takes a break on me. If I walk away from a minute she gets dark. When I return, within 60 seconds she is bright as can be!! Nice to know her mommy makes her happy!

I am so smitten with these two. Looking forward to the nicer weather to get them out and about. Especially Izzy, who seems to be happiest when she is receiving all the attention.

I may need to post in this in health...not sure who reads my posts.
Since izzy woke from brumation I've been a bit worried. She is very active and alert with normal stools but she hasn't been eating that much. She eats a couple bites of her greens and maybe 5 crix a day. She has lost 30 grams since September when she went down for her sleep. I would think she would be pigging out after not eating for so long.

What can I give her to fatten her up and give her the needed nutrition?

Got some stage one baby food.....squash peas and green beans. She is a bugger. Tried some squash on her snout. Nothing.....got a little into her mouth hoping she would taste it and open her mouth so I could give her a bit more....nope. She really isn't interested. I will keep weighing her and keep trying to find something to peak her interest in eating more than what she is.

You might also try carnivore care, if the baby food doesn't work. Good luck!

Can't believe its been 4 months since I've last posted! Wanted to give an update on my two babies. Izzy is doing fabulously. My last post she wasn't eating much. I think it was due to her waking from brumation. She is now eating more than ever. She LOVES her supers and crickets. Still a bit fussy with her greens. I've tried just about everything on the "list" but the only green she seems to like is collards. She is about 1 1/2 yrs old now and still prefers protein.
She is my social dragon. Absolutely LOVES the attention that people give her. She loves to be out and about and gets quite grumpy when I return her to her enclosure. She makes us all smile and its fun educating those who know nothing about beardies.
Fionnna has a completely different personality. She is more the home body. She likes to explore, but isn't too keen on being held. She wants down! She will ride around on my shoulder, but she would prefer to be down on the floor exploring. Its amazing how much she has grown since I got her in October.
If I get time today, I will post some recent pics of them both. I am STILL LOVING being a beardie mom and I hope you are all doing well!! Now I gotta catch up on everyone elses babies!

Hope all is well with you and your "zoo"!! :lol:
My girls LOVE their beds and blankets. They won't sleep without them! If I turn their lights out without their beds, they look at me as if to say...."where is my bed?!!" and they won't settle down unless they have them!! Thank you again!!

Work is busy (wedding season) so I will do my best to post some pics soon!!!
