It has been a week, should she go to the vet now?

My girl Lu ate one of my anti-anxiety capsules on Wednesday of last week, the night before I left for bonnaroo. Everything in me wanted to stay, but I paid $350 for my ticket and people were sharing my tent so I went. The lizard-sitter says that she would not eat her waxworms or any of her greens and she was black all of the next day. Over the weekend, her color returned to normal and she moved around a little but she had some weird behavior issues: she moved slowly in tight circles crouched down in a protective stance for the first few days and now she still won't eat.
As of yesterday I could get her to drink some water but now she's all bloated with water and she still won't eat or move too terribly much except to situate herself on her favorite rock and sometimes lay under her basking lamp.
The medicine she ate was a 75mg venlafaxine and I'm worried she may also be suffering from my attempt to lavage her on that first night which mostly ended up with water everywhere and very little getting into her system.
UGA has a veterinary hospital about an hour and a half away from me and I'm going to the UGA campus tomorrow to turn in forms for my graduate program. Should I take her to the Veterinary ER while I'm there or will the drive be too much stress???

It would probably be a good idea to take her in, you never know what kind of long term affects a med like that could have.

Well, the good news is it's been a week, so it doesn't seem as if it's a lethal dose. However, take your Beardie to the pet, as Meds can have an effect on all kinds of things. These tablets contain human brain chemicals, and so could alter your dragons brain chemistry and body chemistry. I would imagine shed recover on her own after everything flushes out, but you can't be sure, and taking your Beardie to the vet is what you should be doing. Book an appointment now.

Hello,

OH my, a lot if not all of those types of medications are laced with fluoride & other chemicals. The blood brain barrier is much different in reptiles than it is in mammals & humans.
They could at least try to flush her system out a little with some activated charcoal just to get it fully out of her system. She would feel so much better!
How are her colors looking today?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
