Is this weight and size good for a 6 month old beardie?

I got Steve on march 20 and was told he was 4 months ge was 10 inches long head to tail. Now its been two months since then so he should be 6 months he is 17 inches and weighs abou 287g ! Does it sound like he is doing fine? He is my first one and i just dnt know much. please help any comment or advice is appreciated.

Hi there, he is growing at a very rapid pace and is a pretty big boy. One word of caution, he is actually getting a bit of a gut....while many owners think this is always healthy, it can lead to problems as they become adults. We want to avoid stuffing them, that turns them into overweight couch potatoes that can develop health problems [ gout, fatty liver disease and other vital organ problems ] So keep up the good work but be aware that the fastest growing chubby dragons are not necessarily going to be the healthiest.
