Is this hornworm too big?

My beardie Tofi is crazy for hornworms! But, I accidentally let one get too big. I'm afraid to feed it to him- could someone let me know if it's safe or not? (My guess is no..)

If it IS too big like I suspect, any suggestions for keeping the hornworm? Would it ever actually form a chrysalis? (This would be so cool for my 6 yo daughter!)

A full grown dragon can definitely handle a full grown hornworm

Okay. He’s actually only about 8 mos. old and the worm looks almost an inch longer than the space between his eyes. But they’re so mushy he just gobbles them up!
