is this a good uvb source

I have a zilla desert series 50 microwatts uvb @ 12'' the bulb is a 20'' T5. I was just wondeing if it was a good uvb source and, if its not does anyone know of a light that would fit in a 20'' T5 fixture or should i get a new fixture. Thanks.

im not really familiar with that uvb i use a reptisun 10.0 flouresent uvb which from my research have found to be the best. is your fixture for flouresent tubes

Hello,

In the past, this light has caused a lot of eye issues & other health problems. It initially was emitting low wavelength UVB which was bordering UVC & are harmful. I do not think that they have been tested extensively yet, as to learn of any changes that these bulbs have undergone so far.
I would recommend the Reptisun 10 flourescent tube bulb, or the Arcadia D3 12% tube bulb, either one are fine.

Thanks, I just went out and bought the reptisun 10.0 flouresent uvb bulb . Thanks for the info on the dangers on the desert series bulbs.
