Hi all,
I am fairly new with beardies as I have only had my baby Chilli for about 3 months (she is now a little bit over 6 months old). I have done plenty of research but I have noticed feeding is sort of controversial. I have read to feed them as much insects as they can eat in a 15 minute time period.
This is what my baby eats currently, and I would really like some tips/feedback please!
She is hand-fed insects twice a day, this is what she eats per feeding (around 9am, and around 6pm)
- one hornworm (she absolutely loves these, goes nuts, and really good source of water for a picky beardie)
- 5 superworms (they are not very large at the place I get them)
- about 10 crickets
(All dusted with calcium or multi-vitamin depending on the day)
While being fed these insects twice a day, there is always a fresh salad which she eats quite a bit of. She is not so fond of veggies but loves her greens and these are switched frequently using the list from beautifuldragons.org.
Anyways, what I curious about, is if I am overfeeding her?
(please also keep in mind, I live in a small town in Canada which does not allow dubias, rarely supplies silkworms, or phoenix worms)
Thanks so much! (sorry its a lot to read )
