Is she gravid? *Updated*

Well she has dug her self to the bottom of her lay box in two spots and has not tried to dig any sort of borrow or cave its just a big hole in the corner Shes been scratching at the plastic for about 30 minutes now. What should I do?

Will she lay in an covered hole? She gave up at about 8 (she usually sleeps at 9) so Im going to warm her up for an hour in the morning and then let her get back to it for the rest of the day. Is that the right thing to do?

She may dig a few test holes but she will do it if she is making holes. Also you can cut half the lid off and put a heat light in there and let her in until she lays.

I have a 60watt house bulb in there to keep the temps up they stay at about 85 if its on the opposite side and 90 directly on her. But today the entire day she has just been at the bottom of her current hole in the above pictures trying her best to dig through the plastic. I tried starting a new hole for her and directing her the other direction but she just goes to the bottom of that one in the corner and digs at the plastic for hours on end.

It is normal she just needs to find a good spot but she is doing normal behavior.

Alright I'm just worry wart if you couldnt tell haha. I just feel like she wont stop till she gets through the plastic lol. But as you said I'm sure she will be fine.

YAY!!!! she has laid 4 eggs so far. When she is done im going to take some pics of them because im not sure how to tell if any of them are fertile but until that time what are the signs of a fertile egg?

Nice plump white eggs. Just let her do her thing, when she is done then I would bathe her and take the eggs out and into the bator. Also make her a nice salad with a nice covering of calcium. Congrats on the eggs.

She laid 22 eggs, they are very plump thats for sure. they are hard to tell if they are very white since they are covered in soil. If they are infertile they will collapse right? If so how far along will they begin to collapse early? I candled them and there arent any visible veins ( to my blind self) but all have a short of red ring with something in the middle they all have the same marking, its almost like a stamp inside them is this a fertile embryo?

If it has the red in there then chances are they are fertile. Sounds like the embryo. As for the collapsing of the eggs you really cant tell if they aren't in an incubator. They need humidity or they will collapse. But if the eggs are infertile usually they are a yellow tint . Leave them be for a few days to 2-3 weeks and then candle them. Try not to candle them now as this is the hardest part of their life.

They are in the incubator im getting a stead 83F and still working with the humidity it seems to be working alright as of now but ill kick back for a few days and mist them and check the temps periodically.

No do not mist the eggs just the substrate! If you mist the eggs you will kill them because then they cant breathe. Try to get the humidity up to 80%

okay good thing you told me that! i was completely unaware. Every store with in a 10 mile radius was sold out of vermiculite and i saw some people using perilite so im using that at the moment atleast.

Just make it damp so it holds its shape. If you need more humidity you can add water in the bottom or add a small dish on the rack.
