i orderd Arcadia, and working on his temps as we speak, his basking spot is no 40c and his cool side 27c ish
i have a digital thermometer deluxe with two probes.

it will take the rest of the week for the new uvb light to come so how long should i leave his old one off for, and how long should they stay on for, his vub and heat are on a timer both comin on at 7 30 morinng and off at 7 30 at night, is this too long.

again thank you for you help, i feel i am gettin some where, :D

Great that you ordered the Arcadia.... it is a great bulb!

40*C in basking and 27*C in the coolside is great... way to go!

Yes...go ahead and take the ReptiGlo out...don't use it at all! With the reptiGlo off and the temps corrected you should start to see a change in your girl within a few days, if not sooner! :D
While you are waiting on your Arcadia could you possibly get your beardie outside for some real uvb under the sun. Daily would be great!

The schedule you have your lights on is perfect.... 12 hours on and 12 hours off.

Good luck and keep us posted on how your beardie is doing!

thank you for your help, diesel and i will soon have it all sorted.

the only thing with having the uvb light off is it looks dark for him, and yellow. even the spot basking light am using doesnt look white, its new!

if she is goin in to brumation what should i do, sorry to be a pain, she is my first lizard.
i am also going to take a toilet sample to the vets when she does one, shes been doin them a lot in the bath, just to rule any illness out.
ive been giving her a bath every two to three days, and also when she is in the bath sometimes makes like a whistling noise, is that norm,

You are very welcome! :D

The beardies do like it somewhat bright. Would you happen to have a bright white household light bulb? You can use an ordinary everyday household bulb. Make sure it is the same watt as the basking bulb you are using. If you switch the basking light out for a regular bulb...keep an eye on the temps. No two bulbs are the same and you make get a different reading.

Beardies don't generally go into brumation in their first year of life. This is not to say that it does not happen. I think Diesel is just a little sluggish due to the lights and temps. Once you get it all straightened out you will be surprised at the difference you will see in her.

It never hurts to have a fecal test done. To me it is better safe then sorry! :D

As far as her making a whistling sound in the bath. Is she bloating up and then exhaling when you hear this sound? Is this the only time she does this(in bath)?
I'm sure it is nothing to worry about. As long as she is not make any crackling, popping or wheezing sounds when she is outside the bath she should be fine.

ive put a 40w house bulb in her cool end just to add some light,
we dont really get that much sun here to take her out as we gettin closer to winter and i work all day but my bro is gona get her out in the day time and hold her outside when the sun shines while i work alday lol

she has been drinkin alot out of her water bowl today, she has also been playing in her water bowl, laying in it and pooing in it, thats a good sign right?

the noise she does in the bath is only in the bath,am not sure she likes to swim :) i think its more of a case of how to get out which i think puts her out of breath. lol

i still cant believe she is a girl, for the past 7 months she has been a boy to me lol bless.

Yes, the extra light will help...especially since your coolside temps were down a bit.

That is great that your brother is going to help by taking Diesel outside for sunshine.

That is a good thing that she is drinking and soaking in her water dish. A hydrated beardie is a happy beardie :D :D :D

Just make sure the water is not raising the humidity in her tank.

I'm thinking the noise you are hearing when she is in the bath is her exhaling. Considering she is getting anxious and wants out.. she would make this sound. My beardie makes that sound everytime I pick her up after her bath...she gets all excited and is more or less telling me she wants down.

These beardies definitely keep you guessing..LOL..constantly!

Well the only way to truly gauge the humidity is with a hygrometer. The digital thermometer that I have does this for me. As long as you don't have a really large bowl of water...it will probably be fine. If you bathed her everyday I would probably tell you to just remove the water. I'm sure it's okay though, especially since you are in the UK. You don't have a problem with humidity there like I do here in Florida(US).

No...you are not bugging me...please don't worry about that. You asking question only tells me how much you care for your beardie and want to ensure she is healthy and happy. I respect that!

I am getting a new baby beardie on wednesday and am already worried...LOL... and I've had my beardie Rex for 6 years. The worrying feeling never goes away. It is only a sign of the love that we have for these wonderful creatures!
Don't think for one second you will ever stop worrying about Diesel  It comes with the territory!

Gemma,
Hi Welcome! I am a new owner as well. Have had my baby for about 3 weeks now. I love all the questions you are asking because then I don't have to ask them myself.LOL! I do have one question tho. How do the beardies get all these parasites you all mention that you recommend to have stool samples done? I have checked with my usual vet and she doesn't handle reptiles so I don't know what I will do if anything god forbid happens. :banghead: I think I should keep some of that Flukers on hand in case of emergency

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
