Irwin to Starburst*?

Yesterday Irwin's (named after Steve Irwin) feet and legs exploded with shed in one day he was all done. I woke this morning to find that his back and jaw had exploded aswell. His first full body shed. I have nothing to weigh him with but he did grow a little over a inch this week which is great. Hope he gets to be a BIG boy.

Thank you everyone I really am proud of him. I bought him from some local breeders who breed mostly big lizards and snakes. When I asked for the hatch date they said they didn't know because they were not hatched by them. When I looked in the tub they were keeping him in he wasn't the smallest but not the biggest out of his 8 brothers and sisters. But he immediately caught my eye because his pattern and color was completely different from all the rest.

First day home

This is one of the first pictures I took of him you can see how small he was 5 1/2 inches. They told me he was 8 weeks old but I'm not sure thats right. They also told me a bunch of other stuff like to spray him down with water a couple times a day and how much beardies like romaine lettuce. I have been trolling this forum for too long to really take any of those things to heart.

Just chillin with me today. I'm guessing he is around 3 months now

Thanks to the good husbandry I learned from this site he is healthy and growing like a weed. I never thought his colors would come in so bright and red.

wow what an awesome beardie, the colors came out so amazing. He looks so different from when he was a baby. From looking at the first baby picture I wouldn't of guessed he was going to be so red. That's so awesome!... :shock: it's making me so excited to see how my beardie is going to change when he gets older

Every shed he just got a little more red. It really is fun watching them grow up. Do you have pictures of your beardie on this site?

I got Irwin out of his viv for about an hour before lights off today. I was pretty sleepy but intending on giving him a bath. I ended up laying in my bed watching this awesome show on animal planet wild pacific it was really interesting. Any ways I woke up about 4 hours later to find that the little guy who was on my chest was tucked inside my shirt collar sleeping.

I'm glad he trusts me so much.

Being new to beardies, I find it amazing how much they change after each shed - Ozzie's just finished his second ful body shed since I got him and he is so much brighter...and bigger!

Some bath pictures from tonight. Since his legs and feet are looking like they are about to shed again.

We had a pretty busy day. me and my mom went around looking to see if we could find some good deals on early christmas presents. We took Irwin with us. We only went to 3 places and I stayed in the car with him for 2 of them. He liked the car he got to watch the people go by and sit in the sun on the dash board. Until we got to the pet store then I brought him inside and talked to the people about a job. I know them pretty well I have been going there for almost 2 years and we got our dog and my first bearded dragon from there. They were very surprised how big Irwin is only being 3-4 months old. They keep their beardies pretty well there but I can see alot of improvements that maybe I can help make. They do have a reptile girl there who knows alot about bearded dragons and I wanted to get her opinion on what sex Irwin is. She said she thinks he is a male also. So the second opinion makes me feel a bit better about my judgment.
