Introducing...Tiamat

After many questions, I have finally named my girl! Introducing....Tiamat (Tia for short). I just got Tia as a 3 month old dragon. At this point, she looks like a girl...we'll see if that changes! She was sold as a citrus, at the moment she looks like she is citrus with possible blue bars. I'm already in love! She can be really goofy and likes to hand out (literally) in very odd positions! She's also quite a jumper! Onto the pics....

Tia's first pic:

Showing off the beard (the first time she saw the cat, by the next day she was already checking out the cat back!)

First measurement: 11 inches at 3 months!

"MOM! What is that?!?!?!"

Balancing on her tail

Using all 4 legs is apparently unnecessary

Thanks for checking her out! She's my first dragon, I feel like everything is going pretty well so far!

What a beauty you have there! As for the length; husbandry from both breeders and owners depend on the length. Some breeders will produce dragons that are 5 inches out of the egg, and by the time they are 3-4 months, they are 13+ inches long, while some will produce the 'average', which is 3-4 inches out of the egg, at at 3 months 9-12 inches long.
My first dragon, Baron, was 10 inches long at 3 months. I'd say that's a very good length for a 3 month old. :)

Thanks for comments guys! She is becoming much more confident in exploring...when I take her out, she runs (literally) all over me! She's also getting bigger...grown about 1/2 inch in two weeks!

(She was well taken care of before I got her, she just was a little dehydrated with the stress of moving in the first pic, I think. She also looks kind of gray in the second pic because she got impatient while I was dusting crickets and made me dropped vitamin powder on her...bath time! LOL)

I'm thinking that Tia is starting her first shed since I got her! (She was just finished a shed when I got her). For the last couple of days, her tail has been turning grayer...it's quite a line of demarcation!

Oh, there's definitely a shed coming! Her tail is now pretty much white...it's been getting whiter for 5 days now, but nothing is coming off and nothing on her body...just waiting and waiting!

We (unintentionally on my part) met the cat today...Tia wasn't scared but I was!

They sniffed

Valentine curled up next to us

And then my other cat jumped up on the other side and my heart couldn't take it anymore and Tia went away LOL. I think she and Val are going to be friends (under supervision) if my nerves can deal with it!

Well, at leas Tia is big enough to hold her own?

Jace hissed at my cat and my cat has been scared since.

We had a very exciting day! Tia is doing well, but appears to break all of the rules! Although she is going into a shed, she isn't slowing down her eating...she's gorging!

Well, yesterday I noticed that her hind legs are starting to go white as well (yes, that's my cat photobombing the background!)

And today.....we have our first shed!!!! (Well, first shed since I got her!!!)

She also got very offended when I dared to move while she sat on the bed...wasn't a fan of the mattress moving under her I guess! (Besides that, she hasn't seemed to be particularly grumpy)

I can't wait to see what she's going to look like when her whole body sheds!!!

Oh, and I also measured her; she's now just over 12 inches!!! She's going to be about 4 months tomorrow (she was 2-3 months when I got her at the beginning of August, but I'm thinking more towards the older age due to size).

She's a little cutie. I love that last picture with the bearding. Priceless!

Her colors look so soft and pretty!

Well, little miss is now getting cranky...

Thanks, I love her color too! Question...now that part of her tail has shed, it seems to be a lighter/less distinct color than the rest of her. Is that usual and does that mean she's probably going to lose some color as she sheds? Just curious!

I recently learned that sometimes the color of their tails change with sheds - Jace's got darker.

*sigh* We're still shedding in sections...and little miss is getting crankier (she's hiding a lot more and doesn't want to cuddle, although she's not bearding at me or anything). Her tail and beard/cheeks have now shed, her legs are in the process of shedding, and her head is turning white. No progress on the torso though. Hopefully it will all be over soon!!!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
