Bearded dragon drags arm around and palm of hand is swollen. Im assuming he injured arm while jumping on bowl to eat cricket. Will happily eat, but tends not to get off basking rock or hammock. Using reptisun10.0 t5ho on top of mesh and using repcal every day. A couple weeks ago fell from a height of 2 feet onto hardwood floor, did not appear to be injured

Swollen palm looks slightly pinker than other palms, although it could be the light making it appear that way

hi, image did not load on my laptop so i do not have a good feel for what you are going through...although take him out, examine him, make sure he is not limping, if so, you might need to take him for a checkup.
rather be safe than sorry. lol
wish you luck and i hope he is ok
happy 4th of july!

I still have no idea how to properly post images, if you right click on the image and open in new tab it should pop up. Anyhow, he is limping and favors his right arm since his left one is injured. I tried to slowly move the limbs around and he doesn't pull them away so I am thinking that his bones are fine but the swelling has not cleared up and is not getting worse

Hi there....here's how to post pics.
https://www.beardeddragon.org/useruploads/
Then hit XIMG
Or you can upload to Imgur, photobucket and copy/paste the img/url here.

It's possible that he sprained it on his hammock, beardies can easily get their claws caught and twist their legs. Jumping around the tank would almost never cause a sprain, all beardies do that, and you say that it wasn't from the 2 foot fall.....so it may be best to take out the hammock.

Gout is another possibility, so if this lingers you will need a qualified reptile vet to aspirate some fluid from the area and check for the crystals seen in gout.

Thanks, how long should i wait before going to the vet, he has had this for three days now and his condition hasn't changed he still eats a lot but we feed him crickets directly so he doesn't move around; is there any way to speed the recovery. I will be removing the hammock temporarily.

Right good hand

Left bad hand

notice the bulge on the bottom and top of the hand

You might give it about a week....some people might go to the vet right away but if it's just a sprain it shouldn't be swollen for more than 2 weeks. It's up to you what to do, if you have an experienced reptile vet they might identify the problem for you.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
