My 4 year old beardie is currently gravid and extremely active (usually very lazy). She is shedding her head and face currently and I noticed small black lines appearing on her back. I can also see single scales turning white which eventually fall off leaving behind black scales. I am unsure what dead scales look like (or scale rot) so I have posted photos of her black lines. Does anyone know what this could be? Is it just a normal shed? I have never seen such dark scales appear underneath a fresh shed. She has a half log in her enclosure that she sometimes turns around in despite being very cramped for her. Could this possibly damage scales by scraping? I am considering giving her a betadine bath to see if it helps. She had black spots on her scales about a year ago but it was different and she was not shedding. The betadine helped cure this but I never found out what it was, maybe a fungus. Thanks for any help!
