Hovabators work just great, I like the one without the fan. I went ahead and built my own (225.00), and there are many choices in between. If you only have 1 breeding pair then maybe 2 Hovabators will do.
Nice job Ernie. Very nice finish work. I didn't have time to do the good job I wanted. I had eggs sitting in a laybox...YIKES... crunch time lol. I like the see through door.
This originally started as a wine cooler that I found on craigslist. It worked out extremely well. I don't think that I will ever have that many eggs to fill it up. But, it is nice to have the capacity. Also, I can run this outside in the garage in winter temps and still hold the temperature accurately. Not that I do this but, I tested it just for teh heck of it.
I keep mine in the garage it holds temps pretty well. I insulated and sealed the holes I drilled. It heats up pretty fast after I open it up even when its cold outside. My garage might drop down into the low 60s, on a freezing night, the hot water heater keeps a decent ambient temp. I almost used a wine cooler but I didn't want to be cut short on space, lol. Oh well, a man can dream can't he.
