I'm trying to take pictures of all the reptiles in the petshop near my area~ Let people know how bad the shops are treating these wonderful creatures... Anyone is welcome to post pictures of any reptiles from the shops~ Thx~

I came across with these 2 bearded dragons and want to take pictures of it and show it to the public~
NO heat bulbs / NO uvb lights~ one of it could barely open it's eyes and barely could move~

guess not much people will participate~ but oh well~ I went to the pet shop and check today~ I'm afraid the two bearded dragon are dead already. The cage was left out today unclean~ Hopefully people bought them but I doubt this possibility~ I assume they are dead already which might be best for them rather than suffering in there~

They have a new clutch of leopard gecko~ One of them is seriously sick and is about to die if not being treat properly~ I've told the attendance in Petco that one of their leopard geckos is very sick~ He said ok and will ask people to check up~ I've waited for at least 15 mins before a lady came and see~ she said she will take care of it and "ask me to leave" in a un-obvious way since I was watching her~ It took her over 10 mins and said oh I couldn't open the gate so I would ask another person to come check on it and once again told me everything would be ok so I could leave which of cause I won't leave till I know what they are going to do~ Another guy came after 15 mins "again" to open the gate~ and said where is the sick leopard gecko you're talking about? I was like "wtf" it's so obvious which one is so damn sick~ I told him it's in the hiding stone lower floor~ He then knocked on the glass and told me oh it's dead already~ I was like "wtf" you still haven't touched him and I saw it's eye is still moving in a way~ I'm 100% positive it isn't dead~ The guy said it's ok and took off~ He came back after 5 mins and brought a black plastic bag ( like the garbage bag) with him~ He opened the terrarium and took the gecko without even look at it and put it in the bag~ I told him it's not dead~ He said "yea we'll look after him"~ I have no idea what they are going to do next~ I really want to grab the bag and leave the store~ At least it will still have a chance to live if properly treated~

the way places like petco treat their pets is bad! i just got two leopard geckos from two different petcos ( i know, it was my only option, and i felt bad for them). i went back to both petcos two weeks after i got them and at both petcos at least two were sickly and half dead. i dont even like to buy crickets from them. (and by the way i bought two petco brand water dishes and they were all sticky and weird)

gosh! that is just terrrible! i canrt belive my eyes! that leo had no fat on his tail AT ALL!
im glad the ones around here really arnt that bad!

I'm glad this could draws people's attention. I have already e-mailed and attached the photos to San Francisco Animal Care and Control. Hopefully I will get a reply tomorrow or as long as within this week. I would be keep going around to the pet shops around the city and taking more photos. I really do hope I will have all the support I need from all the reptile's lovers. Thank you~

yea , i just recently wrote a letter to my local pet shop, there not as bad as that but have wrong substarte and feed them the wrong food,
I agree with what your doing its the best thing as they are suffering,
can you not ring the aspca is it? im not very sure becuase i live in england lol
i would write a letter to pet co myself, and just show them look i live in england and i have heard how bad your shops are lol.
but what there doing to these poor animals is barbaric, owing two leos my self made me very upset and the fact she just threw it in the bag?
people are just so thoughtless and dont care about these poor animals

Seeing stuff like that makes me sick! Thats why I started working part time at a local Petsmart. I can provide the animals with the care they deserve and need.

Sadly I still haven't heard from AC&C for a reply at the moment. I was hoping they would reply me today but guess not.

those pictures were very disturbing - i am also from the uk and would have been straight on the phone to nearest animal rescue.

i cannot speak for everywhere - but i got to about 5 different reptile stores and all their animals are well. (cant say the same for the aquatic sales though) its not common to see reptiles out of specialist stores where i live.
should i spot something bad - i will let you know

Those pictures made me cry. Why do people think that if an animal doesn't have fur or look cute and fluffy they can treat it like garbage? That gecko picture is horrifying, especially when you can clearly see the comparison to all the other geckos. I hope both those employees get fired. At the local pet store the guy that works there breeds geckos and has a huge passion for reptiles...there needs to be more of him out there working at pet stores instead of uneducated, ignorant people.
Sorry for the rant! I just can't stand any form of animal abuse

your english is pretty good

and those pics are horrible! i'm glad your trying to do something about those poor animals. there should be a pet store inspector. keep us posted with updates..
