I'm confused. Whats the difference?

I once bought this.

When I put the hottest bulb in it (100 Watts), the temperature in the cage was over 130 degrees! Yet when I touched the outside of these dome fixtures it felt only warm. I could hold onto it without getting burned. I was amazed.

I then realized I didn't need two domes so I returned it bought a single dome.

SAME BRAND. SAME DESCRIPTIONS.
-Ceramic Sockets
-Polished aluminum dome

YET!... This new single dome, when I put the SAME bulb in it, the temperature is only 90 degrees instead of 130 AND when I touch the outside of the fixture its FRIGGEN HOT lol. So whats the difference? I want a single dome that acts the same way as the double dome one did (High temperatures, yet warm to the touch)
I don't get it... I kind of wanna buy the double dome again even though I'm just gonna use bulb.. :l

That's weird. I used the dome for Jace and I had two bulbs in it which was why it was so hot. When I switched to 1 with the 100w bulb the temperature dropped just right. What are you using the check the temperature?
