so since I have set up my enclosure the heat is fine, the temperatures are fine
(The temperatures are:
Warm end: 32-35c
Cool end : 24-27c
Basking spot: 39-42c
The temps vary between these throughout the day as he is near a window.
I have two UVB lights in the vivarium one 10.0 and one 2.0
One 75watt basking bulb attached to a thermostat
And a ceramic heater for night should he need it, it comes on via the thermostat. )
but the humidity is too dry, I mist the cage every day and I mist my dragon as well. I Think he is fine for now but long term I don't want it to be this dry all the time. so I have looked up solutions and putting a live plant in the enclosure was one of them.
I don't like the idea of putting a humidifier in there.
I have looked up the safe plants to put in the enclosure.
My humidity in there is often 10%, it doesn't go lower than that but during the day the highest it goes it 20% and thats only immediately after I mist the viv.
all I would like to know from you guys is have any of you personally put a plant in your beardies enclosure? if so,
what was it like?
did it raise the humidity? (How much?)
did your dragon eat it?
how did you keep your dragon from eating the soil?
thank you
