I got my lil girl off of somebody on craigslist. I didn't even know she was a "rescue" till I got her. All I could think to myself is, "there is no way this lil girl is 7 months old". She wasn't missing any limbs or wasnt extremly sickly, but it was quite obvious that she was very underdeveloped. A TINY skinny scrawny lil thing.

Shes finally starting to fill out. Very slowly though. And she is still quite a bit smaller than my 7 month old male now (and she is 10 months now). I don't see her having had a long healthy life if I didn't take her in... it had to have been meant to be!

So yeah, definitely keep your eyes on craigslist. I honestly have to say I have yet to see a healthy looking dragon on there needing to be adopted.

freelie, I contacted a friend who is a rescuer, and she doesn't have anyone right now (I adopted the last one) but she said she would let me know when she got one. If you want to wait, I would be happy to give your information to her, so you can work out any details.

I saw your post and may have a couple dragons that you would be interested in. Both dragons were hatched about the second week in january 09. On appeared to have had something wrapped around a front leg while it developed in the egg, causing it to not fully develop. I noticed it when he hatched as I had to unwrap it from the leg. He/she is doing well but doesn't have full use of the leg. The other has a bent tail about half way down. Aside from that it is perfectly normal.

Special needs beardies are something i personally plan to look for some day down the road. I know I could give it the attention that it would need. I think most of them, if healed properly, would make a great companion. I think if you have the time and love, an 'injured' beardie could be a great fit.

These babies hatched around January 15, 2009.
The only thing wrong with the first guy is the kink in the tail.

This one had something wrapped around it's front left leg while developing in the egg. The leg didn't develop fully and seems to be pretty limited in use. When he runs it just drags along his side. Aside from that, healthy.

Just had to pop in and say, I hear you, Mom! I am also a "beardie Grandma" and have spent countless hours doting on my son's dragon... I adore the litte guy (or girl) to pieces. I have been accused of, (ahem), "bogarting the beardie." I've been trying to back off now that said beardie is doing better (he was struggling for a bit, due to needing some changes in his enclosure), but it's VERY hard. I'm very attached, and may need one myself! *sigh* But for now, I'm going to have to settle for grandparenthood... we simply can't afford another, financially or spacewise. Best of luck to you! Em

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
