Okay so Allie has been doing this up and down roller coaster of getting better and then bad again, but this time...I'm thinking she may not come back up. I'm posting to ask your opinion on this.

Okay, so story so far for those who don't know.
Her setup is all right. Slate tile, 40g breeder tank, ReptiSun 10.0 tube UVB mounted on the inside of her tank where she can get 6"-8" from it, basking spot, temps all good....everything...good. She use to eat 20-30 crickets a sitting (3 times a day) and some salad. (a mix of collard, mustard, and turnip greens) She's been having trouble with what we think is yellow fungus and we've been treating her for that, but so far...it just keeps getting worse. It will seem like it's getting better for a day or two (right after a shed), but go right back to where it was and get worse. (even though we keep treating her) She's 14" long and use to weigh 175g, but now she's only 152g and still 14". She's so skinny. She won't eat, never comes down off her basking bridge (except when I take her off to try to feed her or when I put her to bed), and she just lays there. Sometimes we think she's dead, but really she's just sleeping (in her basking spot) and breathing really shallow. I can get her to eat -maybe- 1 cricket every few days if I'm lucky. I really don't think she's brumating, she's still really young, but idk. The only thing that has changed is we moved Azreal (our other beardie) out in the living room, but her tank is on top of a desk and he's underneath it, so they never see each other unless we take them out of their tanks. But we moved him out there Thanks Giving day (we wanted him to be part of the festivities) and this "not eating" problem didn't start till a while after that. I took Allie's weight on 12/5 and she was 175g which was a weight gain from the last time I weighed her.

Idk what's going on with her, but I wanna "fix" it. :( She's so skinny, still losing weight, "sleeping" a lot, she even seems "scared" to come off her basking bridge. Idk guys....I just want her to...feel better...? Any advice anyone has I am thankful for. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I wrote this late at night and may have forgotten some things. Or you can check out Allie's thread. (link in my sig)

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

I am sorry Allie is not doing well.
The yellow fungus treatment, are you doing topical treatment or oral anti fungal treatment?
Do you have more pictures of her?
Have you tried appetite stimulants such as jump start or bee pollen? Do you try to feed her baby food or critical care right now?
How old is the Reptisun 10 tube bulb?
I doubt she is brumating, she is probably too young right now.
When was her last vet visit?

topical spray with betadine baths

we do, she should get some uploaded tonight after work

she wont eat anything that we have tried, she might eat a couple crix once in a whilem, maybe nibble on her salad, a couple dubia here and there.
How old is the Reptisun 10 tube bulb?
it just passed the 6month mark we are ordering a new one friday

we thought she was too young too, but at the same time, no idea how old she was when we got her.
When was her last vet visit?
she has not been to the vet since her last parasite diagnosis, its been a while, but there are no repitle/exotic specialists within a couple hours of here, and our car will not make the 2-3 hour trip to see the closest one.

Hello,

Great, I will look forward for some new pictures of her soon. Thanks!
Have you tried colloidal silver for antimicrobial help for her? She can have that daily, along with extra oral fluids, too.
If the fungus is not clearing up, she may need an oral antifungal medication. You may be able to find that without a prescription. I can look for you if you want to consider that, if you feel it is warranted. The fungus issues seem to take forever before they clear up & can cause a lot of health issues.
How often do you give calcium & vitamins for her? The new Reptisun 10 should help her out as well.
If you want to get just a basic fecal done, you can get one done at your local vet for probably $20 or so. They don't have to treat her but just do a general fecal on her would help to see if there is something going on there.

I hope she is feeling better today.

if you know of a safe anti fungal we can give her oraly that we can get without a perscription that would be awesome, we are open to sugestions. the last fecal we got done they just said her coccidia count was up, and i asked the vet the levels and he wouldnt tell me, needless to say, im not going to see that guy again.

Here's some pics of her from a few days ago. I'll have to take another one to show how skinny she is now.

I don't have any great advice, but just wanted to let you know we're all thinking about you and Allie. Good luck and hope she'll start eating again soon and maybe feel better after the shed ! Bee Pollen does seem to help some of these guys - I know I had a mixture( that's not available anymore unfortunately ) that contained bee pollen and my dragon loved it and I think it helped him feel better. So that would certainly be something to add into the mix.
GOOD LUCK Allie! Hang in there !!!

I'm sorry I can't help, it's the worst feeling in the world, seeing a loved one in pain and not have anything you can do. My best wishes go out to Allie, I hope she pulls through. Please keep us updated.

Thank you both! We are going to try more things when I get paid. I haven't been able to work much the past two weeks, so I haven't been able to get anything. Oh and I forgot to answer you, Tracie! We dust the crickets once a day, calcium 5x a week and vits 2x a week, and we dust their salad in the morning.

Hello,

I highly recommend starting her on an oral antifungal, unfortunately. The topical treatments are great, but when it begins manifesting to that point, it is internal & topical treatments are not enough.
Did you ever discuss that with your vet previously, or had it not gotten to that point? I can direct you to purchase some Itraconazole online, without a prescription if you would like to get her started on that as soon as possible.

I agree, the bee pollen would be a great addition for her. The colloidal silver is an antimicrobial agent which may help as well.
What is the humidity in the tank?

It was not to this point. It was there, but it was just the small band on her knee. He said that it was scar tissue and that it would work itself out.

Yes please!

It never gets above 30%. Most of the time it's about 10%-20%. Some days it just says "Low" because it's to low for it to pick it up. lol

Hello,

Wow, she does still really have a lot of fungal issues, I am so sorry about that!
Here is the website that you can get the oral anti-fungal from without a prescription. It is called Itraconazole & it is the most commonly used oral anti-fungal medication. Let me know when you get it & I will get you the dose for it.
http://www.1meds.com/search/Itraconazole

I use this site to purchase Allpurinol for our dragon with gout & have been for several years so they are a safe site to purchase from.
How much oral fluid are you able to get into her daily?
The vet said that it was scar tissue?? Where is the scar tissue?
That is fine on the humidity levels then, no problem there. I hope she is doing better today.

OMG GOOD NEWS MOMENT! (and I'm so very sorry I've left you guys hanging!) Allie ate today! She ate a little clump of carrot (I tried to make homemade "baby food"), 6 crickets, and some dubia! :blob8: :blob5: :blob8: She has also perked up a bit since we moved her basking bridge so that she can get a bit warmer. Oh, and we've been letting her see Azreal (we put her on the floor in front of his tank) and she loves it! It is the most active we've seen her in a long time! Azreal seems to like it to. They are so cute together. I have a video (taken with my phone so the quality kinda sucks) of them "playing" together. I'll try to get it uploaded tonight.

On the down side though, the tip of her tail fell off. (like maybe 1/2 an inch) We knew it was coming, so no big deal. She seems to feel a bit better now that it's off though. We're just worried about the rest of her tail. I still haven't gotten those pics I've been meaning to. Work's been tough/long and by the time I get home it's too late to take them. My camera is old and it takes the best pics in the sunlight.

*EDIT* Here's the video I was talking about! :D

Hey there,
I just wanted to say hi and how sorry I am to hear that Allie is still having troubles. Poor Allie. I hope those oral meds help her! Somehow I got unsubscribed from your reg. thread and missed seeing this one until just now.
