I need help?

Yesterday my AC broke, so it's pretty hot in my house. My bearded dragons basking spot is usually 105 while his cool side it's 80-85. When it broke and started getting really hot unnoticed Ike was avoiding his basking light and even while he was far away he was venting. So I went and checked his temps and it was really hot in there. Luckily it was night time so I just put him to bed and everything was good. This morning it was cooler in my house so I turned his lights on. His basking light takes awhile to heat up, and since I was kinda cooler I thought he'd be okay. I just went and checked his basking light is 127 not a little higher and his "cool" side of over 90. We are hopefully getting out AC fixed tomorrow. Will he be okay without a basking light until then? I don't want to cook him or burn him or anything harmful. I've given him a really long bath today so he's not dehydrated or anything. Any help will be appreciated!

I would keep the lights off, they like it cooler at night.

Hi there Ali, 127 is too warm. I would suggest turning the basking light off for a little while. You could do an hour on, an hour off until you get the AC fixed. Another suggestion would be to get a dimmer to turn down the intensity a bit. I don't know how that works though, so you may want to PM someone on here if you have more questions about that (try Rankins or CooperDragons. They are breeders)

Do make sure that if you have to turn off the basking light for a bit, you leave the UVB on. That's very important for your beardie.
