The ear thing you showed is called *I think* a timphonic membrane. I'm sure I butchered the spelling. From my understanding, it is very similar to an ear drum in that it protects the inner ear. If I got this wrong, someone please correct me. I know for a 100% fact, though, that Lilly has and has always had that. I've heard of beardies acting oddly several days after getting water in their ears, so I wouldn't worry terribly yet. If you do need to have her tail check anyway, though, of course have the vet check her ears. Could you post a pic of the tail? We might be able to tell you what's going on.

I dont mind her tilting her head so much it's when she peridocally runs arounds her viv hitting the wood and laying on her back i took everything out her viv before i put her in so she couldnt hit herself too much.I cant even watch it when she does.I just turned her lights off 2 hours before i usually would but i cant stand her doing that so helpless.Im glad the ear thing is normal, thanks.

Here's the picture it doesnt look so bad in the light but when shes away from her basking spot you could tell it's really dark maybe it's shedding because her tip of head has been miscolored for about 2 days now.

she looks misrable

My little one's tail looks very similiar. It's just naturally darker at the tip. There are tons of pictures on the link in my signature if you want to compare. I would see how she is in the morning, and if she is still acting off, then you are probably right in taking her to the vet.

It is about 1:15 am now and my beardy woke me up because i heard her running around her cage. She has not slept at all im almost certain that there is an infection because i cant imagine water being in there so long although i dont doubt that it wasnt the cause. So im probably going to stay up till 8am which is when the vet place opens and try to look up as much info as i can that will relate to her symptons. If this has happened to anyone before please give me advice so i know were in the same boat and at least feel a little more comfortable.I'll write down almost exactly how she acts since i figured it wouldnt hurt.

I gave her a shower/bath you can call it when this began i noticed her acting different and took her out because i think she could of drowned herself with her nose to close to the ground and under water. When i picked her up she wanted to go down and kept trying to, digging her nose into my hand and trying to get down.I put her in her viv in hopes she would calm down because i thought she was spooked, she didnt however and hit things in her viv.I got the shoebox padded it with a towel and put her in it with the lid on top so she couldnt see and was less likley to hurt herself and be as stressed.Vickson told me to let her bask in her viv to let her bask( i dont blame anything on him im very greatfull im sure that i was suppose to do that) im just writing exactly whats been happening. I took eveything out her viv and padded it with 2 towels she started doing circles like some dogs do when chasing there towels for about 20 secs shes done it 3 times through out the day.She also only once ran around her viv Flatened her body puffed up and opened her mouth. She runs around her whole viv very fast hitting the wood she does that for about 10 secs which seem forever about 4 times now. usually she stays and tilts her head with her eyes open, and changes sides after a few minutes .

This is her almost exact behavior im afraid that this will cause permanent brain damage and im sure this will be something she remembers when i pray is over:/

Finally went to the vet tried to scedule an appointment at the exotic hospital in hawthorne but the earliest appointment i could get was tomorrow, I then got refered to the animal hospital(exotic ones btw in long beach and got an appointment at 10:45 got there at 10 thought there would be traffic, but nope none at all.after seeing the vet i was waiting for she couldnt find out the exact problem since it's hard to tell especially with infections or vartigo in beardys. She offered x-rays and a blood test but i had to decline because the estimitaion would have been around $350.I might get it done if she doesnt get better within a few days she said that what i should do.I did however get antibiotics called Meclazine(keep refigirated),Baytil Suspension, and Metacam. There for pain,Dizziness, and antibiotic. They are oral medication which i have to give her once a day on the right side of her mouth. So lets hope all goes well fingers crossed here, the whole thing came out to $105.She hasnt slept all night her eyes are half-closed now so i hope she goes to bed in her basking area.I will let you know how things turn out as soon as there's a sign of better condition. Thanks for the support.

I am glad you git her to the vet just in case.I would be careful however with giving all the meds especially the meclazine and the metcam. The panacur is rather mild but I believe that is generally used for parasites like coccidia, etc.Did he say that was for her ear? What did he give it to her for?
If you dont mind me asking what was the dosages he prescribed? How much does she weigh?
Is she doing any better today?

Dont mean to sound rude kind of comes out different online:b but i dont think i mentioned Panacur the one you didnt mention however that i did was Baytril Suspension. For the dosage im suppose to give her it once a day in the right side of her mouth.Metacam-0.07 , Baytril Suspension-0.08, and Meclizine-0.02.She does look better (knock on wood) not so out of it and hasnt ran around crazy in her viv i cant say for sure sure because i got some sleep but it usually wakes me up when she does. The thing i am concerened about are her eyes they almost look like there in a constant buldge although not so much sticking out like how it looks when they do. So if you get me Eye Buldged at 50% hard to expalin i'll provide a pic.Im thinking because of lack of sleep. She gave her the Meclizine i believe might have them mixed up for symptons like Vertigo which i was surprised bearded dragons get, others for dizziness and pain. Thanks for your concern.

Update: I just called the Dr that helped me and i explained the things she's doing and the Dr thinks i should probably hospitalize her but i dont think i'll be able to especially because she said it'll be costly and i thought it was already :( my budget would be $160 and that would make $265 added up already, this sucks! i want the best for her so we'll see it'll set me back alot but i really think she's close to no return. We'll see what happens as soon as they call back with the estimate she said she'll try to help not make it so expensive.

The meclizine is for the vertigo/dizziness, and it can make her tired...so let's hope she is just tired right now from the meds and will get a good nights sleep and feel better in the morning. The Baytril is kind of a broad spectrum antibiotic which will cover her if there is an infection. the other one you mentioned must be the one for pain. Please keep us updated.

Well what she is doing is not eating i tried with the the medicine dropper with babyfood she wont swallow or even fight back. She is walking with her back legs with little effort with her front resulting to her front feet being curled up like MBD.Her eyes are really puffed up almost closed but still open. She is very weak and i dont know whats going on im helpless in what i can do for her except tell her to hang in there the doctor advised me not to move her.Im still waiting for them to call me back to see what the estimite will be.

UPDATE: If i leave her there for 3 days it'll be $156 if i leave her 2 days $114 if i get x-rays and blood test done with leaving her it'll be $405 unfortunatley i cant pay that.Im going to leave her there starting tomorrow becuase if i droppped her off tonight they would charge me for a day today.Tomorrow morning im leaving at 7 to get there at 7:30 and when they open and dropping her off taking it day by day.I hope she is better tomorrow and it is the meds causing the drowziness.I hope she makes it through the night please pray for her this may be common but i have no idea so i cant help but think the worst. There is no way im sleeping tonight so my friend is coming over to keep me company till around 2am when she has to work so that helps a bit.Thank you for all your concerns like i said please keep her in your prayers her name is Beardo even though it's a girl.thanks.

Sorry about that mix up on the meds I dont know why I thought I read Panacur :? My apologies on that and yes the Baytril is broad spectrum antibiotic. As for her lethargy its the meds kicking her but that was why I was a bit concerned when you told me he put her on 3 meds.Beardies especially young ones take meds very hard and yes appetite can be affected.Honestly you have to do what you feel is right but unless he has a reason or course of treatment that requires her to stay ther I would personally would be cautious about leaving her there. If they kept her what would her environment be?Do they have enclosures with proper lighting or will they just be keeping her in a cage with heat pads(what they usually do)? Also the relocation stress alone would be really hard on her as well.I keep going back to he isnt sure whats wrong with her so why does he think she needs to be there? If this is coming off wrong please dont take it that way as you said typing is much harder then holding an actual conversation...lol.

What you can do to help her tummy which is going to be upset is getting her on a probiotic like SOY yogurt or acidophilliz. You can also get her some repta-aid to help get her body more balanced. How is her balance and tilting now?Any better?

Not to sound doubtful but have you experienced the lethargy in beardys after being medicated? I only ask because it comforts me to know that it's normal,If so can you write what you experenced or you know for a fact others experenced while there beardy was medicated? Its her lethargy that makes me worried because i hate to say but she is dead looking i keep checking on her to make sure she's still breathing.Im not sure about what they would keep her in or if they would use heat pads i dont think they would because they made sure i was using the right UVB and UVA lights in her enclosure i cant see why they wouldnt use the right ones or that would make them hypocrits i dont know how to spell it haha but like i said i dont know the procidure they do so you could be totally right.I only want her there to see if they can diagnose the problem better maybe it is MBD which i doubt it is but you could never be to sure. Also because they would feed her,she is not eating and the Dr said it could be dangerous if i try to feed her if she's not swallowing or accepting it.

She is tilted atm but i only think because its the way the towels are, she has been there for about 30-45 mins without moving eyes almost closed and puffed up.Im certain she's tired.I have noticed her shaking her head like a dog she does that for about 2 quick secs not sure why i hope it doesnt turn into a seizure.
