I know its been talked about a million times, but.. (PICS)

It's even being talked about in a post on the main page here.. although most people talking about their dragons wont' eat their veggies are talking about juvenile dragons.

My 2 YEAR OLD dragon WILL.NOT. eat a single veggie. Ever. I've tried EVERYTHING. I give him fresh dandelion greens daily before protein. He has gets bananas, dandelion greens, red clover tops, leeks, zucchini, corn, squash, collards, fruit... everything. Dusted with calcium daily, vitamins 3x a week. Tried baby food even. Tried hand feeding. Tried only giving salad and no worms.. he'll just go days and days without eating.

He gets bathed 3-4 times a week. Has fresh water daily. Huge viv. The right lights and temps.

Will not eat anything but worms.

He *looks* healthy... he's small for his age I think, but I know an adult dragon should be getting at least 50-70% of his food as an herbivore now.. but he is refusing. Strait carnivore.

What can I do? I make sure to dust his worms with calcium and vitamins so he at least gets SOME nutrition other than protein.

Can he make it in life like this??

Ooooh, he's STUBBORN! LOL - he is very, very cute.

You never know, he may just change his mind one day, so keep offering the veggies.

In the meantime, feed the veggies to the worms to gut-load them with the nutrition.

Also, maybe try letting him tear away at a big leaf. Some beardies LOVE to rip apart their own greens!

Have you tried dancing the greens around his face? I dance mine over my Odahviing's head then under. I hold the end and make it flit slowly and lazily like a drunk fly. Eventually she tracks and pounces it. That's the only thing I can think of that you didn't mention. He looks pretty happy and healthy though. If the wormies are getting gutloaded, and you're dusting them then he's not NOT getting any of those needed vitamins that he's missing from the greens. I do love that you're so worried though. <3 It's very sweet. That cage set up looks so comfy. Lucky beardie!

When do you feed him the veggies? Mine's a bit stubborn too but recently I found out that he will eat veggies only in the morning :shock: ..So i started putting in the veggies earlier and he usually eats them till noon..

Also: I see that you've tried different veggies but for how long have you had him? If he had any previous owners ask them what were his favorite veggies and maybe that'll work..Mine didn't want some of the fruits and veggies because he never tried them before..But one day I got him to eat a piece of strawberry and a piece of apple and he loves it now..But he's very cautious with food he never tried before .

Try way bigger pieces mine like to chomp their veggies. I get a bag of country greens that are pre-cut and I might tear the pieces in half-ish and they do fine with it. It would be a lot of work for them to pick up tiny little pieces of salad.

Have you tried putting treats like wax worms in the dish?

He looks so healthy and happy to me!! I would keep trying with the greens but you are apparently doing something right because he looks happy and healthy!!! He is very handsome and his viv is awesome!!!
